Fox Instinct Boot

If this boot is "akin to a running shoe" would you buy them for $500 and some change? Ha if I was a better rider I would. Let put them to a side by side comparison with Alpinestar Tech 10's.

Fox uses five different layers in the sole of the boot, making the interior feel akin to a high-end running shoe. A steel shank, which is sandwiched between layers, provides additional support as well as impact protection. Beneath that, a thermoplastic insert provides support for the heel and arch of your foot.

The outside of the boot is just as innovative. Fox uses a proprietary mixture of rubber, making it extremely resistant to the elements. The boot is also durable, capable of withstanding plenty of use and abuse, and the unique blend of outer rubber provides enough grip to prevent foot slippage while racing.

Adding even more support is the hinged ankle enclosure system. This device is positioned high enough on the boot to provide the maximum amount of lateral support, and it also aides in impact protection. The system uses four separate buckles, each of which features a ball-and-socket design. This eliminates the need for Velcro straps, while still maintaining the ease and simplicity seen in past enclosure systems.

$500 bucks is a lot for boots...it hurts me every time I shell out the 300 or so for the SG10's...clearance of course!

Pretty sick looking boots. Never been a huge fan of the previous fox boots so I will stick with my tech 10's until they

wear out. Then I may try either the sg10 or sg12's. Time will tell whether the instincts will hold up. I hope they do as

having another option is always good for the consumer.

Your wise to ask but no I do not in anyway represent them. TT may choose to do a product review who knows, or any of the MX magazines for that matter. The article I read about the boots said RC was endorsing them. Just curious if the average joe would shell out those kind of dollars. To claim they are like wearing running a shoe caught my interest, and I'm pretty skeptical about that claim. I would like to get a boot that has a hinged ankle device.

a buddy of mine had the top of the line fox boots a couple of years ago (cant remember the name) but they kept falling apart in many ways. fox did man up and exchange them once for him but the other ones did the same thing. he bought tech 10s and says he will never change

My cousin has a pair and says they are the 'cats meow.' This coming from a guy who wears SG12's as well. I'm going to make the switch and try them when they come out next week.
