SIDE STAND SWITCH HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to remove my sidestand switch and I noticed that there are 3 wires, 2 green 1 black. One of the wires goes to a diode? Can anyone tell me which wires need to go together to bypass the switch. What does the diode do??? I dont want any problems later on if the diode burns out... Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out.. ?

You didn't say which bike you have,but on my 03650L i connected the green and the green white wires and left the white /black wire disconnected.I'm not sure about the diode,but diodes basically only allow current flow in one direction and if it's not connected there wont be any current. ?
