While cutting Upper shock mount out of Main frame backbone tube, I got to looking at the possibility and need to possibly move Seat airbox frame up to help with shock seat transition. With only two small tube welds attaching it to the lower Engine loops, I cut rear frame free. The original welds,a little rusty looking, so I figured it would at least give me a chance to improve/Strengthen them.
Purpose of this Modification is to create longer travel in rear to match 89' KX250 conventional 12" KYB forks and re-balance 85' 200R out in rear to help bikes attitude and get Geometry corrected. I am trying to find shock to replace OEM 13.5" long Showa that creates maybe about 10" travel.
Donor Bike = 85' XR350R Aluminum Swing Arm (ASA) conversion in place, but 85'-XR350R KYB shock is 15.13" long. No hopes of fitting in 200R frame w/o moving mount or shortening shock mounting points. This KYB shock has no provisions for relocating mount points on shock itself.
