First dual-sport. I have had it since 1990. Kinda doggish stock-had trouble keeping up w/ 1990 XL250 when stock. Put a Vortex airbox w/ flatslide DR350 carb. Exhaust header from Kientech and FMF powercore w/ quieter insert. Front forks have Race tech cartridge internals and Summer's fork brace
and rear has Scott's swingarm w/ Ohlin Shock. Runs much better now. No breakdowns other than had clutch started slipping riding once in very muddy conditions and I replaced plates and springs w/ Barnett kevlar clutch kit. Been a good bike but a bit antiquated now. I also put stainless steel brake lines front and rear.

1985 XC500 Husky. I have had it since 1985. Fast and not probably a bike I would depend on to ride the Baja peninsula. But if you had a good support vehicle it would be a gas!Sure is a bitch to start w/ left hand kick and bike is so high up. I finally was able to afford a Husky and the marquee goes haywire-goes to Italy. Too bad they didn't stay in Sweden!I look at it now and I wish I would have bought the big bore 1985 KTM!

Been a real good bike-had it since 1980. Simons 38 mm forks/Fox Piggyback rear shocks. C&J chromemoly swingarm. I put a 1981 XR500R dbl leading shoe on the front w/ 21" front Sun rim.(brake doesn't work worth a darn when you roll backwards) White Bros. exhaust w/Supertrapp Race muffler. Stock engine w/ 36 mm Round slide Mikuni.I sure know this bike well-it fits me like a glove-sure its limited by age-so what-fun is where you find it! Original motor-attests to the power of regular oil changes with full synthetic ester oil.

Great little trailbike. I have had it since 1982. Struggles to keep up in open terrain but when the singletrack gets gnarly it shines. Simon's 38 mm forks/had Cal Fab aluminum swingarm(cracked and I had to put boat anchor but reliable stocker back on) and has Fox twin clicker shock. White Bros header w/ 3 in Supertrapp w/ quiet end. Engine still original-not rebuilt-attests to power of regular oil changes w/ full ester synthetic oil.
