I never understood the poor reviews of this bike. Best in class handling, forks well understood by tuners and quite capable with few changes, reliable, and way more motor than the anemic ill handling YZ. YZ forks are better stock, but that and it's carburetor are about all.

Fantastic power, jumps very well. Very poor suspension, turns poorly even after changing rear linkage, triple clamp offset, and getting suspension working decent. Engine is an early 80s design and shifts like one. Did I mention the power?

  3. Honda CRF450R (2013) Updated

In stock form the power ends all to abruptly requiring constant shifting. Front forks are very poor as well. Bike feels very light despite what the scale says. Cornering is a delight. I think this bike has the most potential in its class. Once the suspension is fixed and the motor worked on it can be faster than a 2015 KX450f & corner better than a 2016 KX250f, at least that's what a rider of both tells me. In modified form it's a delight and you just can't get any of the others to handle this way.

  4. Honda CR125R (2005) Updated

Just a fantastic bike, handles like a dream. Weight of a feather, great power, reliable. Weakest point is TMX carburetor.

  5. Honda XR200R (1986)

One of the best trail bikes ever made for the casual rider. Reliable, predictable, easy to ride. Front brakes however are a joke.

  6. Maico 490 (1981)

Cheater bike, better power than anything else in that era. Some of the better brakes for its time, stellar handling. Acceptable suspension.

  7. Honda CR250R (1979)

Good torquey engine, light, decent brakes for the period. Left side kickstarter not for everyone.

  8. Honda CR125M (1977)

Poorly suspended compared to other bikes of the era. Countershaft sprocket too far from swingarm pivot, very bad brakes.
