Honda XL50 '77
This bike was born as a full restricted XL50 in Germany at 1977. With the total power of 1.6HP with Ø12mm Keihin PC14 and a top speed of 40 Km/h it was the entry class for Germans aged 16 and over with driver licence. It was sold in Japan with small differences as XE50, delivered 4.5HP with the Ø15mm Keihin PC08 carb. The street version of the engine made 6.5HP with a Ø18mm Keihin PC07 carb.
My bike now should deliver about 12 to 15 HP. Done with a TB132cc big bore kit on a XL100S bottom with XR100 crank, modded primary gear drive, oil pump with tach drive and 5disc clutch assembly, a Keihin PD62 carb of an ATC200X, Shiftup big valve cylinder head and a muffler from the XL125.
Swingarm came from a CB50, wich is a little longer, and was modded to fit the XL rear damper specs and frame dimensions. Fork is built from XL50 sliders in combination with CB50 tubes. This setup adds a bit seatheight and longer wheelbase.
Modded lightcoil gives about 70W/12V, so i can use H4 35/35W headlight and 21/5W at the rear without problems of charging the battery. Small indicators a. controlls are LED's. Tacho-Speedometer with EL backlighting, printed translucent foil and lightened needles.
I also added an oiltemp feeler and digital gauge and an oilcooler. Oilcooler comes from a china scooter, feeler/gauge assembly eBay/selfmade.
So far, Alexx
Edit: In 2016 i went from steel to alluminium rims. I also added some nice Betor shocks.
