This bike has a ton of hours on it. We did a complete engine rebuild 3 years ago on it, and it's been wrecked hard. Sent my husband on a helecopter ride to the Trauma Unit, but it's been resurrected and still holds it's own on the track. My son started playing on this bike at the age of 12. We do have a Rekluse Z-Start Pro clutch in it and it won't stall when you lay it over.

Only downside is, it's hard to get parts/plastics as it's a 1-off year for most parts and plastics.

My husband's first love. First and only bike we bought brand new. Currently rebuilding engine and suspension overhaul for our son to ride.

This machine is still competitive on the track if you know how to ride a 2 stroke. Made it 7 years on a single piston without even re-ringing it. Maintenance is KEY!!!

We have our 06 CRF250R, it was a basket case when we got it, which is standard for us. Engine was blown, cases were shot, and it wasn't maintained at all by the previous owner.

We got it for a good price, and sent the suspension off to get redone while we decided what to do about the engine issues.

It didn't take long, we ended up trading an 05 CR85R that we put together from the ground up and traded that for an 08 CRF250R motor and complete stock dual exhaust system that was like brand new.

This BIKE IS AWESOME. It's the best of the High Compression Piston bikes, the 06 Carb was cleaned and set up to match the motor and the dual exhaust system which removed that BOG everyone complains about.

    MY SON LOVES IT!!!

We have torn this bike down over the winter and have redone all bearings/bushings, fixed bent rims, and had the suspension completely overhauled and set up for my son.

It had some issues with the power valve needing to be cleaned up really good and replace quite a few pieces in there. The carb also needed a good cleaning and some loving to get it to run right.

My son hasn't ridden it yet; so I'll update with his opinions.

This bike has been the Cat's meow and was my son's first CR85 when he was 7. We converted it to a small wheel, shaved a spare seat, and ran lowering links with the forks dropped down and used starting blocks at times.

We now have it swapped back to the big wheel setup and his original seat put back on along with Pro Taper Ricky Carmichael High Bend fat bars and bar risers. We will be testing out other Pro Taper fat bar bends in the coming weeks.

The suspension is completely tweaked for a stiffer ride rated for a 145 lb man.

He loves the raw power and lighting throttle response that this bike has. Our engine is a stock bore but had had enough loving that it's a powerful ride even for my husband who is 6'3" and around 220 lbs.

My son started to steal his dad's CRF450R for some joy rides at age 12 last summer and he's 5'5", 160 lbs and prefers the room and wheelbase of his CRF250R and his CR125 as he is transitioning to the big bikes this year at some events.
