I have been saving for a DRZ, and ran across this deal on a green DRZ that I couldn't pass up. I can't comment on its off-road abilities yet since I just got it and it has street tires, but I can say that I love the power, quickness, and weight. I am about 5'11" and the height is not an issue at all. I can flat-foot it no problem. The weight difference between this and my KLR feels like more than it actually is even. I'm going to love this bike!

Mods done by previous owner:
- Acerbis tank, I think it is the 3.7 gallon model
- Yoshimura pipe with stock header
- Handguards and plastics, I can't tell the brand
- Some sort of aftermarket headlight with front blinkers built in
- Aftermarket taillight and turns signals that look good but are difficult to see during the day
- Bridgestone street tires

Planned mods (not necessarily in order):
- Skid plate
- Radiator guard
- Case protectors
- Some other taillight and rear turn signals
- Kickstart kit
- Seat Concepts seat
- Aftermarket header
- Set of straps for my Wolfman Enduro tank bag so I can use it on both the KLR and the KLX
- 50/50 tires, possibly Dunlop 606
- Rally fairing
- D.I.D. 520 X-ring gold chain
- Sunstar sprockets
I bought this bike in March of this year (2015) from a guy near Roanoke, VA. At the time it had 8k miles on it, and was in great shape. It came with Happy Trails panniers, a Sargent saddle, Happy Trails engine guards, and a taller than factory windshield.

I added a Happy Trails top box, but have since sold it because it is bulky and I don't believe it to be safe off-road. I'm in the process of changing to all soft luggage.

This is a good bike. It does consume a fair amount of oil at higher RPMs, so I will probably upgrade to a 685 at some point.

    Other items of note-
16 tooth front sprocket since I commute on I-40 about 90 miles round trip
    DID 520 X-ring chain
    Shinko 700 tires
    Happy Trails tail rack
    Barkbuster Storm handguards and plastics
    Happy Trails skidplate
    Omni-Cruise throttle lock
