Doing a modernization restoration on this bike, wanted something light and fun for finding local trails between trips hauling the YZ250x to riding parks. with soem TLC I think she will make for a fantastic bike! I have had a sweet spot for DR's since I had my first one, a 1986 DR100, that bike was the epitome of bullet proof reliability and years of trouble free fun. it was slower then my buddies CR and YZ 80cc's but then i never missed a riding day from a bad piston like they did. eventually i got a RM80 then RM125 and fell in love with 2 stroke power, but never did I forget how much fun it was riding that little DR100, it was a tremendous part of my early childhood when exploring on it would feel like we were kings of the world. Now I'm hoping to recapture some of that feeling on the the DR350!
I picked this bike up for my father to ride as we used to ride when i was a kid and then he started a boat dealership business and had no more time for it. now that he has retired from that i thought it would be fun for him to get out and ride a bit when he wanted and to have some good father son time doing something we used to do! so i grabbed this bike and did a restoration on it. it was a lighter weight eleectric start docile 4 stroke which is exactly what he needed, comfortable and easy to ride!!
This Bike is the BEST Bike I have ridden in my lifetime. it inspires a tremendous sense of confidence at all speeds, has a great smooth powerband (for a two stroke), excellent fitting bike ergonomically (with a few minor tweaks for my 6'-0" height) and is an absolute joy to ride. I have never had as much fun on a bike as I do with the YZ250X. if you are looking for a bike for off-road Trail Riding/MX/HareScrambles, this bike does all of them well! I would strongly urge you to put it on your short list!
