The bike is a 250 Baja (has an XLR prefix) and parts wise is a hybrid of XR250L & 250R from 86-95
Purchased around three years ago for £1000. The bike was sold as a 'runner' with MOT but in reality was a bit hanging with the rear brake completely seized and worn chain & sprockets. The seller was based in Devon and anyone who knows that area will know that mud is very red and very sticky (I still haven't managed to remove all of it!).
I serviced the bike (oil & filters, brakes rebuilt etc.), fitted new tyres and chain and sprockets before giving it a fresh MOT but didn't ride it much. Took the bike offh the road at the start of last year with the pandemic and went a bit deeper into the bike. The rear shock has been rebuilt with an Ohlins spring by MH racing and I am rebuilding the front end at the moment. Have done a paintless repair on the tank too.
Next on the list is cleaning up the carb and potentially replacing that if it's too far gone. Interested to see if the XR250L carb mod will work on this bike.

Anyone with the same bike in the UK should check out Wemoto for consumable parts (servicing, seals etc.) and CMS (in Holland) have been good for NOS parts. Definitely worth using the Honda parts diagrams below as a lot of parts are common to other models; managed to source a new cush drive in this way.
