Great Bike. Modified for on road use with a WR stator/Rotor and floated ground. The trail tech Reg/Rec chargers a small battery. I have a decent set of lights, blinkers, etc. It is alot of fun to have a YZ with a few trail parts. A 90% dirt, 10% road.

First bike. Engine was just rebuilt when bought. Tore down and replaced nearly all bearings and added aftermarket parts along the way.

What's the point of owning it if I can't give it 5 stars?! Seriously, I'm new to the dirt bike world. I've had a Harley, but never played in the dirt. I bought the bike and I'm completely going through it, and making it a dual sport and street legal. The only thing I won't touch is the motor for now, as it was just overhauled before I got it. I think this bike will have more power than I need and will put a smile on my face every time I ride her.

Good bike but requires a lot of maintenance and is more fragile than the YZ

The last dirt bike I owned was a '98 YZ400 so I have been out to the dirt game for awhile but never stopped riding. I had street bikes still to keep me happy. Buying this one, I actually went in to see about buying a 2014 YZ250F. The salesman talked me into getting this 2013 450 at a huge discount so I jumped on it even though I was worried about power and not being used to riding in the dirt after so long of a break. Best decision I had this year as for as hobby purchases. I love it, picked up right where I lift off riding off-road. This thing has the perfect amount of power everywhere for my riding style. I did have to give it some extra umfh already a for as power adders. I started with an FMF Factory 4.1 RCT slip-on and the Yamaha GYTR Power Tuner then recently added an FMF megabomb header (neither were installed yet on the pics posted) and love it even more. For me the bike went from perfect to heaven.

Bought it for one purpose only - MotoGymkhana. I feel like it is gonna be the right decision. Light, agile, with enough engine power and decent brakes.

Update after first year. I did a few mods and was able to get to the top 4 riders in Czech republic. Still, there are reserves both in the bike and the rider, although overall lack of engine power is beginning to be the main limit of this bike.

True Ride it like you stole-characteristics due to 16/44 front/rear sprockets.

Best bike I have ever ridden, more power than you can use, light (for a 450), reliable, handles great in a straight line and turns like its on rails. Perfect woods bike with a few mods.

So far, awesome machine! Changing out the 14t sprocket for a 13T makes a huge difference! Stock exhaust dropped 10 lbs off the bike and removing the rear fender/ lic plate assembly for a DRC Edge2 install dropped another 5 lbs and cleaned up the tail end quite nicely. Stock tires are find for light trail riding, but slippery hard pack or muddy conditions really show how a tire that does well on the street, makes for a lackluster woods tire. I have had this bike on technical terrain and the stock suspension has faired well. I am 190 lbs and the rear shock did require some addition of pre-load. Suspension upgrades are on the 'to do' list on down the trail.
