CategoryLast UpdatedReviewHated it. Too much like 4 stroke power for my liking. Good increase in midrange power, but absolutely no top end power. Did not try different PV settings. Knew right away this was not for me.
While the thicker material is good. Having it hang down so low sucks. If I remember right about 3" lower than stock. Pipe was always the first thing to hit going over obstacles.
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewWhat a score it was finding this pipe. Love it!!! By miles the best improvement I've done so far... (And proper jetting, of course)
More power than stock at all RPMS Good linear low and mid power and nice high RPM hit when it comes on pipe! Exzactly what I want out of a 2 stroke!!!
Not dragging on the ground, like the gnarly.
Unfortunately NLA. Really wish FMF would bring this pipe back for the 93-98 RMXs
Good improvement over stock reed cage. Improvement is mostly top end power. At first, low end power was slightly less due to stronger vacuum at carb making it run richer. After dropping pilot one size, and increasing needle straight diameter, low end power is just as good if not better than stock.
4 stars. $ to Hp gain (2-3hp) not nearly as good as what you'll get from a aftermarket expansion chamber and silencer on the RMX.
Rad Valve has manifold section cut off and machined flat so to fit stock RMX rubber boot for installation of 2015 YZ250 TPS/Power Jet carb.
Welded and machined this up myself. Great mod for the RMXs’
Excellent upgrade for the weak RMX ignition. Dual ignition maps with up to 5 (100% interpolated) TPS and 15 programmable RPM points.
TPS and Power Jet provides increased throttle response, and load sensitive fuel enrichment.
Two additional GPO (General purpose outputs) can be programmed for RPM, TPS, or both, switching points and useful for Power Valve solenoids, relays, etc....
Anti-kickback protection with start retard allows greater advance than other CDIs without the kickback in direct fire mode (startup advance)
By far the best upgrade I’ve done to my RMX...
