Honda XL600R (1984)

Right now it's a nice lump needing work ...... bought two or so weeks ago as seen in pics with three small holes to tank and a couple of dents too, shot f disk 2mm below limit, dead f tyre, no horn button, no indicators, dead battery, no brush guards, one side panel only, good compression and started right up......... tank prepped to be sealed this week filled and painted horn button made up (1mm ally plate folded to fit ) brush guards bars and brace fitted, battery fitted, wavy disk fitted, gaiters fitted, front led indicators and relay fitted rears and led tail to be fitted soon, mudguard cut down by 2" due to crack, carbs to be overhauled, tappets to be set, f break already overhauled. Plans to high flow up-jet and re-gear output. fogs on way.2mm ally footplate to be cut for side plates from pattern but 1" longer and deeper. add into that seemingly good compression should have got a gage on it .... cracked head only done up by two bolts cam sprocket only held by one bolt other hanging 5mm out oh and ring gaps .20 over tolerance ....... new head ported and polished honed cylinder 0.25 over rings file fit to minimum tolerance... oh and a new clutch .... uncorked and up-jetted 65,125,130 .... back together again !!
