    Powernow or nopower???

I had one on my 07 WR250 and took it off. I found it easier to get my jetting dialed in without it.
  2. Thanks to Oz Leper I finally made the switch to a rear trials tire, and what a switch. I wanted to try the Vee Rubber tire that Oz recommended, but I could not find one here locally, so I bought a Pirelli MT43 and was not disappointed. I took the new tire to Taylor Lake Colorado and rode more than 300 miles on a mix of roads, jeep trails, 4 wheeler trails and single track. All very rocky and hard pack. This was the best mod I have made so far, what a difference!!! I could not believe how much better this tire climbed over rocks and through streams. The tire shows some wear, but still looks very good for all the rocks I put it through. I am very pleased with the switch and do not plan on putting my old nobby back on.

    Trials Tires - Review

Couldnt find any Vee Rubber distributers near by, so I went with the Pirelli MT43. It will be my first try at riding on a trials tire.

    new 07 wr250f

I have a 07 wr too. You WILL need to re-jet, along w/ the o-ring mod. It should get rid of that bog. Do not buy the powernow. I did, and it made my jetting problems worse. Took it out, and not my bike is running good. I also went up two teeth on the back sprocket, but I needed more low end for riding in Colorado.

    Trials Tires - Review

oz, do you know what model your vee rubber tire is? I found their web-site and they sell a ton of tires. I called a several places here where I live and no one has ever heard of them. So, I'm gonna check into buying one over the web, but they have so many I'm not sure what model and how to convert the sizes to a 100/100/18 ? Thinks for all your info.

    Trials Tires - Review

oz leper, what kind of bike do you ride? I have a 07 wr 250 and went to a local shop and they did not think a trials tire would fit on my back rim??? Also, I'm betting they don't sell the V tire here in the States?

    Which Needle

Thanks. What pilot would you recommend? does high altitude affect the pilot?
  8. I will be riding in Colorado next month, 6000 - 12000 feet, and am wondering which J.D. needle some of you would recommend? I have a 2007 WR250 with all free mods done and yz cams. I am going to jet the bike down to 168-166 main, 38 pilot jet and 40 leak jet. But I'm not sure which J.D. needle to useand which clip setting to put it on? I think the temps will be low 50's in the morning warming up to maybe very low 70's during the day. Anyone riding around this altitude and temps have any suggestions? Eddie or J.D.??

    07 WR250 Oil Change

I too have removed all the drain bolts and even laid the bike on its side trying to get more oil out. Every time I do this I still only get 1 quart out of the bike???

    homemade WR seat?

I just got back from 6 days in Colorado. After riding up to 70 miles on trails and fire roads every day, my bumb was so sore I could hardly sit in the truck to drive home. I have sit on some other bikes and they were super soft compared to my 07 WR seat. I am hoping someone will make a soft replacement seat in the next few years.

    Bog solutions.

I would not unplug your TPS unless the bike is stuttering like mine was at a steady throttle. My buddy I ride with also has a new wr250 and he has not unplugged his. Anyway, the TPS is on the top left side of the carb, but if you follow the wiring away from the carb you will find a grey plug under the frame, left side of the gas tank. Just unplug it from threre. You might have to take the tank and radiator shrouds off to find it.

    07 Wr 250 F

I have a 07 WR250 too. Do all the free mods and then begin the re-jetting game. Its been hot here with very high humidity, so this is what I've done and my bike is running great right now. Bought the JD Kit, went w/ red needle 2nd clip, 168 main jet, dropped down to a 40 pilot jet (stock is 42) and went down to a 50 leak jet (stock is 70), also bought a zip ty fuel screw and a boysen power now. My bike had a terrible stutter at a low steady throttle, so I disconected the TPS last night and the stutter is gone. Hope this helps.

    Bog solutions.

Hope this helps you. I have been dealing w/ the same problems you are discussing for two weeks now. Here's what I did. I have a 2007 WR250F (all free mods done). Bought the JD Kit, have the red needle in, 2nd clip. 168 main, 40 pilot (stock was 42), went down to 50 leak jet, zip ty fuel screw, boysen power now. The bike ran AWSOME from 1/4 throttle up, but I had a terrible stutter when at a steady throttle at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle (like when your just cruising down a trail). So last night I unplugged the Throttle Position Sensor TPS, and hotdog it all went away. Some people are saying that if you unplug the TPS it decreases power. I did not notice any decrease in power. BTW, since I have been jetting, re-jetting, and re-re-jetting for two weeks, I now own about 20 different size main jets and 3 different pilot jets. But I figure I'll need to re-jet when it gets cold anyway and go a little richer.
  15. I have a 2007 WR250F with the same exact problem. Terrible stutter at 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. I unplugged the TPS last night and it totally went away??? My question is, does it hurt anything to leave it unplugged? I did not notice much of a power difference?
