  1. my point is....since I've done nothing to it for 2 years, should I just ride it until I get symptoms it may need some valve adjustments or....... have it looked over, ie. valves, top end ?
  2. Don't actually race however I race around my CRF250f on some sandy track conditions and some hard packed conditions......looking for performance and good wear.....what should I choose ?
  3. Bought back in August '07, and quite frankly outside of normal routine maintenance, the only repair I've done is front fork seals. I ride the bike approx. 3 times a month on the track nothing crazy (I'm an old guy 49 yrs old, chasing my kids around the track).....so I haven't really put that many hours on the bike since iI got it. My questions is bike runs great and starts on first or second kick, should I check the valves or go with "if it works don't fix it"? Just don't want to set myself up for a big ticket repair if I'm ignoring something.

    (3) CRF250r Clutch questions, need help quickly

Are clutch baskets easy to replace? Does the crankcase cover need to be removed, or just the side plate? Any special tools, techniques, tricks?

    1) Is Barnett any better than OEM ? 2) I see your basket pic, does that need to be replaced when it's in that kind of condition? if it's not replaced when in this condition what happens?,,,clutch will slip ? Thanks
  8. Question #1 - Looking at a Barnett and OEM, which is better ? Barnett about $130.00, OEM about $110.00 Question #2 - Do I need to replace the basket as well, how does one determine to replace or not ? Question #3 - Do I need to replace Clutch cable ?
  9. Got a used '05 KX 85 for my 12 year old. Just doing some "new bike" maintenance and have no manual. 1) What is correct fork oil level, and amount ? 2) What is recommended weight 3) If I want to stiffen a bit would 20wt be ok, or should I just add more oil? Thanks

Will a CRF100 rear shock fit on a CRF80, help?

In theory, if total length is identical, it looks as if spring is a hair longer, would this stiffen the rear a bit.....?
  11. Trying to stiffen my kids CRF80 front suspension a bit (as well as rear), BBR may be too extreme (kid is only 70lbs), read somewhere that CRF100 front springs will stiffen the 80 up a bit? If so, cheap enough, OEM CRF100 springs are only $15.00 a piece. Also heard putting 1 BBR spring in may work as well, but can't buy just one, and they are $80.00 a pair. In addition, will the CRF100 rear shock fit the crf80 and work to stiffen a bit?

not sure if this attachment below works, however doing a search under "crf100 springs fit crf80?" this post from dr.drz, shows the CRF100 shock, side by side to the 80, to appear slightly different, spring a tad longer? BTW, son is only 11 and 70 lbs. and the BBR Spring I believe would be way too stiff. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4615767#post4615767

Thanks, I guess my next question is, is the shock any stiffer (slighter longer spring perhaps), or is it identical?
