    Piston 300 ser

The rear sprocket is the same as Italian Husky and Gas Gas bikes.
  4. The funny part is I almost never see quads there anymore.
  5. I have not been there in a couple of years, but I know there are still people there all the time. Just wondering if he is one of them . It's dicey at best.
  6. Wow, good to know. Yes Crow is getting very torn up last couple of years. You'll have to show me around Lightning. I like easy MX tracks, I'm not too much of a jumper. Do they groom the track every weekend?
  7. I have never been to Lightning. How would you say it compares to the trails at crow as far as size and quality?
  8. Are any of you guys members at Crow Canyon?

    17 Sherco 250 Se-r vs 17 Ktm 250 Xc-w?

Probably just have the stock head worked on. I believe RB designs took 2.5 cc's out of mine. It's really easy to do the clutch spring mod. Just try it and if the clutch slips for you just return it to stock.

    17 Sherco 250 Se-r vs 17 Ktm 250 Xc-w?

On my SE-R 250 I removed two of the clutch springs. The clutch pull is much easier without any slippage problems. For more power; firstly make sure the final drive gearing is good for you. Stock was 14/49 on my bike I had to drop to 13/50. I also boosted my compression as Jamracing mentioned for more low end power.

The OP was asking about 2 stroke bikes...

    17 Sherco 250 Se-r vs 17 Ktm 250 Xc-w?

I have a 2014 Sherco with 110 hrs. on it. I ride solo a lot lately. The electric start has been 100% reliable for me and makes life much easier on the trails.

    17 Sherco 250 Se-r vs 17 Ktm 250 Xc-w?

The power valve is controlled by the switch on the handlebars. There are hard and soft maps available. It is not adjustable, not needed IMO.

Mx setup for 2017 Sherco 300 ser

My SE-R works great at my local MX track. Obviously suspension/springs will be important. The only thing I would add is that the stock lead battery is a brick and a lithium battery is much lighter and would be easier on the airbox where it lives.

Suzuki needle better then stock needle?

You get a lot more options for tuning going to Suzuki needles for less money than buying a JD kit. With the JD kit usually only one of the needles will work for a particular application. The Suzuki NEC and NED allow you to tune the needle length 1/2 clip at a time and there are several different needle diameters.

    2017 Sherco 300 se-r

Actually, I do think it is more like a 2-3 person show now. I just ordered a few small parts from the Sherco offroad website. The website shows if the parts are on hand or not and the cost. I ordered, received email confirmation. Parts shipped the next day and I was emailed a tracking number for the order as well. The parts were sitting on my front porch when I got home yesterday.

Yes definitely go with the 13 tooth sprocket. The 14 is only good for flat fast ground. My engine is all original except for the head. RB designs took 2.5 cc's out of it. At my elevation I'm getting around 190-200 PSI of compression. I may experiment with a thinner base gasket when I rebuild the motor to lower the RPM range. This motor revs way out in the hard map position.

I think you should be pretty close with your jetting compared to your last bike. Do you bump up your compression riding at elevation? I did that to my bike and got a nice boost in power.

Not sure what you are looking for exactly in changing your silencer. I don't need a spark arrestor. I bought a "race muffler" directly from sherco offroad. It has a removable screen which I took out. It is much shorter and lighter than the stocker. I have seen on ebay, Scalvini and a couple other Euro brands now have silencers for Sherco. My bike is running great on the NEDJ needle. I would stick with the NEXX needles, they are easy dial in and not very expensive. Where are you riding...Liechtenstein?
