    2008 CRF250 with 2010 plastics?

you can see at one point in the video the shroud bolt holes dont line up at all with the bikes mounting points
  3. i just saw a youtube video of a kid who put 2009 CRF 450 plastics on his 2001 CR125, just wondering if anyones tryed it with a dual exhaust CRF 250? the 125 looked pretty cool with the new plastics!

    I hate my 2009

CRFs run alot better with the exhaust valves set for 0.08, i did it and it helped a bunch!

    Cylinder question.

im putting new rings in my 05 CRF250r and im wondering what i need to do to my cylinder? wipe it down? hone it? deglaze it with a scotch bright pad? any help is appreciated
  10. alright lets make a little list of everything i love about riding my gas powered bike: 1)the power and the feeling of taming the fire breathing beast under you. 2)the sound, is it just me or does the sound of your bike railing out of a perfect berm sound like the angels singing to you from heaven? 3)working on my bike, i dont know about you guys but working on my bike is one of my favourite things to do. i remember learning everything i know from my dad, and that caused some great memories. i dont really know how much there is to work on with an electric bike??? 4)RIDING!!! i think every single person on thumpertalk will agree with me here. riding wont be the same with electric. imagine sitting on the starting gate reving up your engine with no noise and the blasting into a silent holeshot? all the sounds and smells that make motocross my passion will be gone once electric is here. the feeling of putting your top end back together and going out for a first ride hoping you didnt forget anything and hoping it doesnt blow up wont be there. (i know that sounds bad but its truley a great feeling when it doesnt!) all the late nights and the lessons learned about working on motorcycles will slowly go away. Now dont get me wrong im not against electric bikes i think they have a place, maybe even a race class, but they will never replace gas powerd bikes. they arent the same and wont give the same experience all of us know and love
  11. i need to do somthing to my bike (05 CRF250r) because i now cant buy shims small enough to run on but b4 i go out and buy new valves and all that jazz i want to know exactly what wears in the head for the valve to be pushed further into the head therefore needing smaller shims. is it the seat being pushed into the head? the valve stretching? the keepers wearing out? the valves cupping? it just doesnt make any sense to me why the clearances slowly get smaller.

I think im turning into J-law

IMHO jason lawrence seems like a cool guy and is clearly a very talented fast racer, and as for his personal choices... hes acting like every other 18 or 19 year old would.

    oil ring missing side rail????

i took my top end off yesterday b/c im going to do a rebuild and i was looking at my piston and my oil ring only had one side rail on the bottom??? ive been burning oil for a while now and i knew something must be wrong with the oil ring but my question is why would there only be one side rail? did the person who rebuilt it before just forget or is there a reason to only have one????
