    How long can a 250X idle for?

    Exactly. Once I rejetted all of my complaints with the bike went away. Anybody who doesnt rejet these things is a moron, its like a night and day difference.

    mods=less reliable??

    I have always wondered if you were to run a big bore on an x, and use the added torque and power in the lower r's, it seems you could add some mileage and reliability over the stock set up. I dont have any facts or experience to back this up though. Anybody care to comment?

    The stock screw isnt long enough to be used with some aftermarket filters I believe.

    If you want all out drag speed, go with a kx/cr 500 two stroke. That should catch those quads.

    Clutch Cover - Fragile ??

    My cousin just put his whole brake lever through his clutch cover on his yz450. Luckily he noticed before he rode for too long. Made me really start thinking about getting a stainless one for my x. Expecially after i noticed some deep scratches in my clutch cover. JB weld might be in my pack soon in case of a top of mountain emergency.

    250X Best Exhaust Setup

    I run the fmf powerbomb header into the q2 slip on. I love it, not too loud, but did notice a little power increase over the whole spectrum.

    Gas Mileage with Popular Mods

    Your main seems pretty rich to me. Try to dial your fuel screw as stated above, but if that doesnt fix it you might wanna try out a new main.

    Mechanic suggested some funky jets...

    Thanks for the reply. I called the shop again today to make sure that they didnt make a mistake and tell me the wrong jet size, and the service tech, who owns an x himself, even said he runs a 135 main. Im probably gonna go with around a 162-165 though cause thats what I see people running...Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
  11. Hey guys I just went and purchased a bunch of new goodies for my '06 X. I just picked up.. FMF power pack-header, muffler, and powernow AP cover twin flow air filter airbox mod and some jets the mechanic at the dealership (who owns an x with similar mods to me) suggested for me. Anyways, after reading some other peoples posts the jets the mechanic suggested to me seem a little wack. He said go with a 135 main, raise the needle 1 pos. from stock, 42 pilot, then turn mixture screw 1.5 turns out from stock. Im mainly worried about the main. It seems way off of what people are usually using. I ride in 60-85 degrees, 200-2000ft mainly. What do you guys think? Thanks.
