    changing oil on a 2008 yzf450

I don't want to sound like an iddiot but here it goes. I just bought an 08, rode 2 times. I was changing the oil step by step from the owners manual. I drained all the oil, replaced the oil filter and buttoned everything up. I added almost 2 quarts of oil and nothing was reading on the dipstick. So i added a little more, The dipstick never read anything. So now i have a whole buch of oil in the bike but the dipstick is dry. Any help would be appreciated.

I took 5 years off and then got back into the sport. I love every minute of it. Tell me what you think.

    changing oil

I have a 2006 crf250r. I'm trying to change the oil without a owners manual. Where is the drain plug for the transmission side? I know there is an overflow bolt, is this it?

    starts

Ok so i ride a 2006 crf250r. I know one of my biggest problems in racing is starts. I went to the track today and did several starts to get better. I usually start in 2nd but tried third just paying around. It worked, i didn't bog down or anything and i was faster because i didn't have to shift. Just thought i would throw this out there for something new to try who is having trouble with starts.

    My first Honda crf250r, Help!

I had the same problem. The key is third times the charm. When my bike doesn't want to start because its cold, I blip the throttle three times. Its starts but dies. If you do this three times, it will stay running on the third. Really wierd i know.

Get me out of novice class

No because its like there are always one or two riders that just blow past me. They could be sandbagging though.

Get me out of novice class

OK heres the story. I'm 23, 6ft 190 pound rider on a 2006 crf250r. I race every other weekend and ride atleast twice a week. My bike has about 30 hrs of engine time on. I race in the novice class and haven't placed above 6th place, which isn't bad because there are atleast 12 people racing. I noticed that everyone i race against has some form of aftermarket part on there bike. I feel like i'm raceing good but don't have enough power to keep up. I want to spend around a grande on performace upgrades. I don't want to blow it all on exhaust. I've been looking into getting a hot cam. Does anyone have any performace ideas for me, i'm sure this question has been asked like a million times but i appreciate the info.
