Clear Creek Public Meetings SANTA CLARA 1-20-10

Who was there? Seemed to going pretty well, we were very impressed with the other groups there (rock hounds) They did a great job speaking for them selves while also supporting our sport. Did any of you guys go up and talk? I wanted to but wasn't sure if my tourettes would had kicked in talking about a closed riding area:foul: It's just BS let us ride!

Has any one tried this programmer

That is correct no intercooler until the superduties. I have a 96 and have a intercooler out of a 01 to put in it, just have to save up for the piping aprox $500-600. If I run my programer on tow safe my exhaust temp never goes over 1100 deg no matter how long or hard I push it (towing 14,000lbs) If I put it on its highest setting I can hit 1500 deg in less the one minute on a steep hill. My coolent temp never moves past 1/4 to 1/2 on gauge even when hitting 1100deg for 30 mins+ or 1500 for a few mins.So I guess my cooling system is working correctly. Heck it's only got 210,000 miles...can't out run my buddies 6.0L's but alteast it's Not at the dealer every week and I know it will get me to where im going.

Miami Creek this weekend 9/5 or 9/6

I have rode out of Ahwanee a few times with my ex boss, Not very far through the hills but that is pretty far to go back via 49.Sounds like it's time for a GPS.No plate or lights...good thing the CHP didn't find him first.Glad I got a plate just in case. Isn't that one of the "man" rules ? If you get lost never admit it unless your wife is there to comfirm it happened.

    Yamaha 99 Big Discounts!

Just got back from yamaha 99 talked to Jim...It's true they are closing the doors this coming sat the 19th. Very sad to see him to close, he was very supportive to help keep riding areas open. When ever he had bike nights and get togethers at his shop he always welcomed groups to set up booths(from pismo to the mountains he helped) He still has alot of inventory from bikes to oil also riding gear, helmets, boots , clothes so even if you don't ride a yamaha try to help him out...He is giving great deals on everything.

It's ok riding very dusty this time a year...hasn't been maintained for a long time so there is a lot of ruts...once it starts to cool down and we get some rain there will be people posting on here almost every week heading up there. There are other riding areas around here, just watch for the Fresno/madera ride post useally do it by the month

    Yamaha 99 Big Discounts!

Big Open sign out in front on sat...nothing saying sale or last day...only a few short posts on craigslist saying they were closing...looked like still bikes inside on sat just driving by..I will go by tomorrow and see if they are still open since mondays are a normal day off for them.I don't have a yamaha but it's never good to see a shop close especialy since the owner was very involed in helping keep riding areas open. Let you guys know tomorrow what I find out since they are right down the road from me

Try Dieselstop.com...alot of great info on there...Not all of the newer programers work on the older 7.3L's There are guys on there that do custom flip chips...just a small knob on your dash and you change the program while driving down the road... Delo oil is what I use...also get rid of that K&N filter..with a turbo it will suck the oil out of the filter and then suck dirt. Ask on that web site and you will have more info then you will ever need.Depending on what injectors you have (single or split shot) will depend on alot too if they are the older singles they will limit you alot but can be upgraded..And of course get gauges if you already dont have them (exhaust temp most important)

    Kamook Staging area.....

If your at Kamook area, if you head up towards the next entrence off of 41. There are a few small areas along that fire road to camp. Depends on what size of trailers you have..maybe 4 or 5 trailers in the 21 to 24 foot range. And they are flat. Kamook isnt that great to camp. I have seen people camp up on the fire roads around it, but then you take the chance of getting hit by the trads playing rally racer on the fire roads. Lone pine is way back deep seen some good size motorhomes back there, but alot of low trees, so if your trailers are nice be careful...And like Allout said enjoy the Dust and the Ruts. Atleast it should be pretty slow up there this time of year
