Thanks. My bad then. Newly back to the fold and maybe a little lost. Will try to get to the right place for relevant info.

    2017 DRZ400SM additional lighting solutions

17 days and no suggestions? I'm beginning to think there isn't much life on Thumpertalk these days. Back when I was riding a DR650, this seemed like the go-to place for good info.

    Suzuki DR-Z400SM 2016

Stock seat is a brick. Otherwise its great fun to ride. Bought it to hang on the back of our motorhome. Will use it for all kinds of riding when traveling, though I'm not into motocross or hard trail stuff at my age. And for long journeys, we'll be in the motorhome or on our Triglide these days. Goldwing traveling is behind us. Solo, I might take multi-day trips on the old Honda Shadow ACE 1100 Tourer.

    Kawasaki Prairie 360 for plowing?

My first ATV was a Kawasaki Bayou 250 with a plow. I used that plow to move the snow off my driveway and sidewalk. It worked fine. I now own 2 Praire 650s and 1 Prairie 360. I've bought a plow kit for one of the 650s, but I wouldn't hesitate to use the 360 if I didn't have a 650. The 360 has plenty of torque, I think. I would guess that $3k for a 360 in good condition and with a plow would be a good deal. I suppose it depends some on what year it is and what part of the country you're in.
  7. My ride, other than the wonderful '02 GL1800, is a '99 DR650 Suzi. The previous owner did the standard mods except for removing the front chain block/roller/thingee (so I did that after reading instructions on this board). It's lowered for 30" legs like mine, Dynojetter, and resprocketed on the front (again, I did this one based on advice on this board - good change). No big mods, but it's just fine for my limitations. This one is complete with #1 (and only) grandson! Hmmm. How do you get these photos linked into the message. http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup6RKKt%3Axxr%3D0-qpDofRt7Pf7mrPfrj7t%3DzrRfDUX%3AeQaQxg%3Dr%3F87KR6xqpxQQ0axalox0Paxv8uOc5xQQQeQaeoaolaoqpfVtB%3F*KUp7BHSHqqy7XH6gX0QJQP%7CRup6eJG%7C/of=50,475,443

    which tires for my dr650s

By the way, I find that www.motorcycle-superstore.com seems to offer very competitive prices and a pair of tires qualifies for free shipping.

    which tires for my dr650s

The 120/90-17 seems to be available only in the Stone TW42 (OEM). Do fit a 130/80-17 instead?

    which tires for my dr650s

So if you buy the IRC GP-1 for a DR650, what sizes do you buy? I find only 3.50-17 for rear. Is that equivalent to 120/90-17? For the front, I find several sizes. Which size is equivalent to 90/90-21? (Please excuse the dumb question.)

    DR650 on the way!

I bought a Corbin used on eBay - not cheap, but a decent savings over new. The seat has many miles on it, yet it seems in really good shape, AND it is a huge improvement over the stock brick. Nevertheless, I think the Renazco (or whatever) sounds like perhaps a better seat.

Looking at buying a dr 650... Few Questions

I think the DR650SE is a near perfect commuter. I especially enjoy rides up the St. Vrain Canyon on my way from Longmont to Allenspark where I work on weekends. I bought mine used, bought a used Corbin seat for it, put a 15-tooth sprocket on the front, added a Nelson-Rigg tailbag and tankbag, and installed a small windshield. I'm loving the bike!
