    MXTech Lucky inserts - opinions?

I just put a set of Lucky Inserts on my 2015 250sx. Best mod I've done by far on the bike. The 4CS's were redone 3 times, what a waste of money. I ride moto (Slow/Heavy/Vet and can now ride full up and not worry about the random death clank the 4CS used to surprise me with...... The forks are so plush, probably too plush, and they will not bottom.....well they actually have bottomed but you don't feel it. I've ridden cone valve, they are 90% of that performance for way less money. I was going to go SSS conversion but when you added up the cost of donor forks, that need rebuilt, revalved, etc, it was cheaper to go brand new Lucky. Plus you get the weight savings and they ship them to you with the correct springs and valved for your riding skill. The only down side is now I'm complaining that the shock isn't as good as the forks.................😂😂
  3. Guys, Anyone know if this place is still open? From what I can gather on the net it's a free ride area with an MX track and some trails open everyday. I'm a reservist that drills at JRB, considering taking my bike with me to ride after work since it's so close. Thanks!

    PC Linkage

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm overseas about 12 hours off so it's hard for me to just pick up the phone and call PC..... Bearings are a year old, and I use a TQ wrench. Normal suspension feel, swapped in PC link....super stiff. When riding the bike it deff doesn't pogo in the rear any more, but man did it stiffen it up! Guess I'll play with the tightness of the spring.....

    PC Linkage

Jeekinz, I set the sag with the stock links. Now with the PC link installed I'm going to have to do it again due to the increase in stiffness. The PC site says it will lower and stiffen up the initial stroke of the suspension.....I wasn't expecting as much stiffness as I got. When you installed the link and sat on your bike could you tell the rear was much stiffer? I'm 200 pounds (shock has been resprung and revalved prior to PC link) and when I sit on the bike it squats about an inch then stops....

    PC Linkage

Guys just installed a PC linkage to my 2005 kx250. For those of you who have experience with this mod did it really stiffen up the suspension? It's hard for me to believe that just a couple millimeters difference in links would cause such a drastic change. The rear is super stiff now, when I sit on the bike it settles about 1 inch and that's it. Having ridden the bike, the rear feels much more stable. I'm just curious if others have had to back way off on the spring to get their sag set back to normal.

Building Canada Nicest KX 250 2 Stroke

BCSNAKE, Yeah man, I live overseas and am heading home in a few weeks. Trying to get the KX squared away. I'd like to go to a machine shop and have a clear idea of what I need made so they can get it done while I'm home. A pic would be great! Thanks!

Building Canada Nicest KX 250 2 Stroke

BCSNAKE, did you make the spacers yourself, or did you order them from machine shop? Just got done racing the '05 this weekend...my bones still hurt from those pogo forks!

    05 250 suspension again.

Alan, Had any luck on the '09 forks? Rode my '05 yesterday and the forks felt especially terrible...like trying to ride a jackhammer around a motocross track!....

    05 250 suspension again.

Alan, Nice man, I'll be watching! Hope it's easy for ya, the guys in Cali told me the steering stop would need modded......anyways good luck!

Building Canada Nicest KX 250 2 Stroke

HAHA! They are both sweet, and both have different forks than what came on the 05-07 KX's. My old girl needs an upgrade. I think both BCSNAKE's bike and the AF one have the newer KXF stuff on them....

Building Canada Nicest KX 250 2 Stroke

Nice bike man! The 450 forks you put on....was it a direct fit?....are the Applied clamps for a 450 as well?....450 wheel and brake? My '05 KX250 is in need of some BCSNAKE love.....

    05 250 suspension again.

Alan, I have the same question. I've heard of guys swapping in the newer forks with triple tree's, they had to mod the steering stop, don't know any other details.... .....in addition to Alan's question how about Yamaha SSS forks, can they work on the 05-07 KX? I also have an 05 KX250, suspension resprung and revalved for my weight and ability......it's not very good. Before I left Cali the local guys (I'm a moto rider) told me no matter how much I spend on these forks they will never be very good......

    Help with 2005 KX250

No I'm not looking for an easy solution. I had a few min this morning before work and noticed the leak. The intake boot looks fully intact, with no visible signs of leaking. I went to the FAQ page and tried to read up on how to pressure test, the link no workie for me. I'll do another seach and give it a go.

    Help with 2005 KX250

Took a close look at the motor and saw a tiny bit of coolant around the head. If some water can seep out air should be able to.... Loosened the head bolts and retorqued them, added about 2ft lbs for mom too. Mabe this was the leak? Going to ride it on Friday and see................
