CRF450L Mods: What did you do to your 450L today?

I got mine dirty again today. I found a wicked pool of hummus on a trail.
  2. Removing the EPA garbage would probably help.

AdvRider CRF450L thread Its over there somewhere. You’ll need a universal translator.

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

I don't think this is necessary. The forum is a community. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion and express it but be civil about it. You can accept or reject Mario's advice. That's up to you but respect is expected.

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

Did you leave the Throttle Tamer on or did you switch back to the stock throttle tube?
  6. This makes sense. A little extra back pressure helps your power down low in the RPM range and a more free flowing exhaust makes it at the upper levels. In 2002, Colin Edwards switched from a dual exhaust on his Honda RC51 to a single exhaust half way through the season. He was trailing Troy Bayliss at that point. It gave him more thrust out of the corners but sacrificed top speed which he didn't need. He went on to win the WSBK Championship at the final race.

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

The Booster Plug just gives a false air temperature signal to the ECU to trick it into providing extra fuel. I tried one on my BMW and it just killed the fuel economy without much change elsewhere. Its in a box on the shelf now. Its a bandaid at best.

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

It's worth getting a tach. They're cheap and easy to install.

Vortex ECU for the 2019 Honda CRF450L!

Does the Vortex retain the fuel metering on the dash? I like to know how much I have.

Thought this bike was a dual sport

If you want a "go fast" bike buy one. This is a go everywhere bike.

CRF450L Mods: What did you do to your 450L today?

I balance the front wheel and don't bother with the rear. I like the spoke weights rather than the stick on even though the stick on are more effective. That is far, far too much weight. Anything over an ounce and I dismount the tire and spin it on the rim. While its off try balancing the rim on its own to get an idea.

Who's Running 130/90-18 Tires and How Does Bike Handle?

I tend to prefer a narrower tire in the mud and muck of New England Springtime.
  13. The best way is to get a custom map done at a dyno center. That one would be perfect for your particular bike.

What Exhaust/Air Filter Mod/Tuner, How Does it Perform

I have the PC V with their improved map for the stock can and air filter. I've also removed all the smog equipment. It runs really well now. I doubt I'll go for an aftermarket exhaust can now because it rides great and is still quiet.

    Different gauge clusters?

I’m not sure why you’d want to. The gauges are great. One of the highlights of the bike.
