    GPS

XRider- I have a garmin V on a ram mount on my bike. I have limited space due to the protapers,ICO computer and scott's damper. How did you use the touratech mount to fit the thick handlebars?? I cant' see the lower mount on your picture.

    Baja Designs Responds

My personal comments regarding Baja Designs: I've know Alan since he started Baja Designs out of his house. He always gives 110 % to please and answer all questions before, during and after the sale. Baja Designs support has been outstanding.Even though I live in Mexico, I prefer to drive to his store to give him my business. All the guys are always eager to give/share tips and direct you away from junk that come out in the motorcycle market. If you ever have any questions with any companies that are late, bad service,no support, talk to the owner or manager to get things squared away. 4. If you want reliable inexpensive communications, try: www.motocomm.com I have a setup on my wr400 and bmw gs1150. I only bought extra helmet mic/speaker and I have it wired to my vertex 2meter ham radio. They have adaptors for any FRS radio and communication is as easy as pressing the push to talk swich on your handlebar. everything is waterproof and replacement parts are available. setup cost around 60 with shipping plus your radio. Very reliable communications when I am down in Baja and need emergency repeater access throughout the peninnsula. You do not have to be a ham radio operator. You can have your group and chase truck or base setup with the "motorola" frs radios and everyone has safe communications.

    Tecate was a blast!

Morgan and Gang: Great to hear you guys had a blast. Where's the tazidermist when you need one. Byron called to say he found a dead mountain lion on the trai to the sawmill. You guys should have skinned it or dragged the carcass back to San Diego. Pepe

    thrown regina

My personal experience with a regina three years ago while riding down to La paz from Ensenada with a Regina chain .Put new Pirelli mt21 and regina chain for the trip. Rode toll road from TJ to Ensenada. Our ride would start from Santo Tomas To La Paz. Never used a regina but a san diego bike shop had a "killer deal on the chain". Regret buying regina for such a long trip.... Probably defective over tempered chain fromj the factory 1.Piece of junk broke in San Jose Comondu, put another piece of chain with another master link and rode standing on footpegs really slow all the way to Loreto, chain broke again two miles from Loreto, put another piece of chain with another master but decided wisely to avoid Loreto to La paz loop(big silt beds and whoops). Rode in truck from Loreto to La Paz in chase truck. While in La Paz decide to ride bike to car wash from malecon to car wash two block away....guess what chain snapped again.!! Luckily the chain broke three times at a really slow speed. Only damage was bending of original only front chain guard. Stick to proven "o" ring chains. DID X-ring is the way to go!
