    Thanks again Erik.

    Leak down tester

Looking for an inexpensive leakdown tester, any ideas. I see that harbor freight has one but it is advertised as a 12mm and 14mm insert. I measured my spark plug thread and it came up 10mm. Where do i go from here?

    MRD/SSW.EXHAUST

You don't understand, if you go up a hill with the throttle half way on to keep up with traffic,it is really loud. If you don't have a motor like this you don't have a clue.

No i don't have the insert in, i had it in before i had the stroker crank and cams and card and it did't do much.

    MRD/SSW.EXHAUST

Hey guys, need some info. I have 2007 drz s model. It is no longer a 400. Had Eddie build me a 462 stroker motor, +4 stroke and bore, rhc 187 cams +1 on the valves and a ported head, 41 fcr carb and mrd/ssw pipe. Here's my problem, number one after two warnings and three tickets i have to quiet this thing down. I don't care about the noise myself, it sounds so awsum. Has any one used another exhaust that was easier on the ears and does not affect the power and performance.I know i am asking alot, but maybe some one out there has had the same problem. Thanks guys, for your input.

    Top motor mount

I have heard and read on this site that when you change the 36mm carb and go to a 39 fcr mx carb on the drz 400 motor that you should stack the top motor mount to the left side of the motor to give the throttle wheel more clearance from the frame. Has anyone out there experienced any problems or noises from moving the right side to the left. I would think that moving the right support to the left side would weaken the support on acceleration or deceleration, am i on the right track or just over thinking this. My motor is not stock.

    DRZ 400 rear shocks

I have the solution to the problem, in the middle of October if the weather gets bad i am going to send my rear shock to Erik Marquez for him to shorten. Thought about getting a heavier spring but that is a guessing game. Just send him the shock and have him do his magic.

    DRZ 400 rear shocks

Lowering links make the rear like a sponge, even with the spring tension increased. I have a gel seat and i don't like the looks of the bike with it on. Thanks for the info

    DRZ 400 rear shocks

I have a DRZ400s 2007, are the rear shocks the same in length ? I would like to lower the rear of my bike and this could be an option. Thanks for your answers.

This one is for E. Marquez

Noble, Thanks for the reply, I have access to a machine shop in my basement. Would the service manual have the info on disassembly on the shock? And what else does it take to calculate a drop of 2"?

Was reading yesterdays topics on TT and i saw you replyed to a person who was asking about lowering links. You said save your money a fornd get your shock cut to lower your bike. Who do you use to do this? Need a website or phone number. I also wasted my money and bought a 2" lowering links and hate the spongie ride.

After my first ride i emailed eddie about my problem, no reply. I don't think he is happy with me after three months of reasons why my motor was not finished, i had a bad day nothing went right for me. I called him and got a little nasty with him and he said he was waiting for new valves because the coating was comming off of them. I later called him and appoligized to him after i cooled off. Just don't want to bother with epic any more. I thought i would ask the forum for advice because eddie has built a lot of stroker motors for them and maybe someone else had the same problem.

William One, Yes chirping my mistake. it can't be the chain took off everything that the chain could come in contact with, vaccum plates, i don't know what you are talking about? It also doesn't seem to increase with the throttle slightly increased, like it was related to rpm increase. Years ago i had a 750 honda four cylinder when i would go down a cobble stone street or cross railroad tracks the front caliper would rattle, similiar sound. Checked everything for being loose.
