  3. I would suggest the ProCircuit T5 or T6 slip on. Better made, wider power. The weak points of the bike are the fuel pump hoses (they kink inside the tank), the fuel pump (it CANNOT see any dirt, or it will fail. Filter your fuel into a gas can), Fuel pump relay (cheap), rear spokes and rear sprocket bolts will get loose no matter what you try, 4CS forks need pretty much to be 'cartridged' to work properly at speed. I have been looking for a used '17 for months now (traction control, stiffer frame, AER forks, etc). Can't find one !

    12 O'clock Labs Product Line

This guy is an idiot. His statements about the differences between R, X, and L, is the red flag. I would not trust a single word he says. That gauge is HUGE and has no protection or proper mounting. One fall and it is toast. Trail tech's products are far more thought out and more appropritate.

Yes, it spins backwards, if you look at it. You are not supposed to look at it.

did you replace your tensioner and chain ? one kinked link is a sign of a failing chain, and will very noisy

Krannie's 'Just Right ' Rides Thread

No. I tried to modify the pedal for a better/lower tip, and the pedal arm failed from my hole drilling. Not enough aluminum there for what I was trying to do. It looked weak when I was done, so I swung a dead-blow hammer at the tip, and pah-tang ! It broke right off. Better in my shop than on the trail....... I have a Hammerhead on the way....

Boana programmable ECU available for all FI bikes

Beta dealers have the BST (beta service tool) which is a dongle and software that allows you to modify or change maps. Frank nor Tim Plig would sell me one.....

Boana programmable ECU available for all FI bikes

    1. Expensive. $700 for the ECU and the Wifi tuning module and map switch. Add shipping and duties gets you to about $800....without the software ! http://www.betaboano.com/ita/leggi_categoria.asp?sottocat=22&sottocat_tit=GET Athena ECU&cat=33&cat_tit=GET ATHENA ECU http://www.getdata.it/prodotti.php?idcategoria=35&idprodotto=430&lang=eng&idfamiglia=1 2. It is shipped UN-MAPPED! The ECU has a 'generic build' in it, and the Wifi tuning module (much like the Yamaha) only allows you a 5% change over the existing map. It was not nearly enough range to fix the map it came with. A popping belching mess of a map. Unrideable. 3. It requires you buy the MAYA software, and a 'known working map' to modify, or you have to build one yourself from scratch. The software is $600. 4. It has no warranty once it is installed. There are no 'Athehan Approved Dealers' for Beta in the USA, which are required to install to get a warranty. I ride with a Beta rider named Dimitri, sometimes, and he has a 2016 500RS with a 430RE cam and a Athena Get system using the MAYA software. It took him two months of playing with the software to get it to run better than stock.....Now it rips ass, but man, I don't have that kind of time..... Synopsis: $1500 and lots of time required to make it work, and make an improvement. https://www.ebay.com/itm/202457750332

    Stillwell or LT

Beta/RaceTech 'factory' > not impressed. Undersprung, over valved. After Hours Cycles > did mine after the above, much better. Cut the deflection in half. Still undersprung by my sag numbers (using their reco springs) N2Dirt > yet again we tried, and now comparable to a reasonably well set up KYB, but not as plush. Fan-TAS-tic control. Never had the feeling it needed to 'go back' for refinement. Sag is perfect (new springs) MX Tech > have some new tricks that DON'T involve using the RaceTech valve parts like everyone else. They also have an insert system. Anxious to try.

NOT gonna ride my Beta tomorrow........

The stock valving is crap. It's all base valve, so you are floaty floaty deflect floaty. You have to get the race sag down to 100 or less and/or push the forks up in the clamps to get it to turn. I have mine set up for noticable throttle-chop oversteer.
