    2017 YZ250X Jetting Thread

Altitude: 7000 - 8300 ft Rampart range, Colorado Temperature: 75 f Pilot Jet: 42 Power Jet: 40 Needle: NECJ-2 Main Jet: 158 Air Screw: 2 TURNS OUT Float Bowl : 6.5 mm Mix : Klotz super techniplate 32:1 91 Pump Exhaust : Stock X pipe - FMF Q stealth Last ride out was a little cooler at 75f. Bumped my pilot from a 40 to a 42 and it ran alot smoother. A little more grunt down low. The throttle blip rev still bogs, but it is a bit better with the 42. Didn't play with needles or positions. Still on the suzuki NECJ-2. Not sure if I should richen or lean the needle. I would like the mid throttle to go away. Definitely need to correct the squish or pick up a rk tek head, i know that would correct alot of issues. Got a little trail of spooge this time out. Im thinking this is good as it gonna get with the stock head setup at 8000 ft. Attached pictures is from the previous ride with the 40 pilot and warmer weather. At 30 hours. #1 - Should I play with the float height? At 6.5mm and it will leak fuel if the bike is leaning over at 45 degrees. #2 - Still using the 40 power jet with the suzuki needle, should i go back to the 50?

Altitude: 7500 ft Rampart range, Colorado Temperature: 88 f Pilot Jet: 40 Power Jet: 40 Needle: NECJ-2 Main Jet: 158 Air Screw: 7/8 OUT Float Bowl : 6.5 mm Mix : Klotz super techniplate 32:1 91 Pump Bike running pretty good, not perfect yet. NECJ runs alot smoother through the rpm's. I started with NECJ-1 then went to NECJ-2 and ran better. One thing I have noticed is if I try to do a quick rev it hesitates or bogs. Same when Im riding, midrange I pretty much have to clutch it to get it rev. I now for sure I need to correct the squish for my altitude 7432 ft - 9028 ft on my last ride. Not sure If im to lean or rich or if my problems are coming from such low compression at alltitude. I'm new to jetting so anything to point me in the right direction would help alot. I now have a pretty good collection of jets and needles. Main jets 155 - 180 Pilot jets 40 - 52 Needles N3EW N3CW N3EJ NEDJ NECJ

So from lean to rich is this a accurate list? Is their a master list with all the needles listed in order? NECJ - Suzuki N3EJ N3CW N3EW Or should I drop a needle position to richen the needle and lean the main jet out one more size?

Altitude: 7500 ft Rampart range, Colorado Temperature: 80 f Pilot Jet: 42 Power Jet: 40 Needle: N3CW-1 Main Jet: 162 Air Screw: 1 turn out Float Bowl : 6.5 mm Mix : Klotz super techniplate 32:1 will try 40:1 next fill up to lean it out more to possible help that flat midrange Super crisp down low and super crisp up top. Through out the day I kept leaning needle, started at position 3, then 2, ended on 1. I their a leaner needle I can go to? All the part number are confusing. Anyone have a list of needle's lean to rich to make it easy? Mid throttle I still have that flat spot around 1/8 to half throttle. Got much better with the #40 power jet and even better as I leaned out my needle. Any recommendations to tune that spot out?
