  1. +1 I have a 05' 625 SMC and love this bike. Its my daily driver, I ride it about 50 miles a day and change the oil every 3000 miles. My bike is jetted with the airbox cover removed and i shortened the cans 6 inchs. Dont worry about the oil changes, i dont know why people freak out so much about them. Its 2 filters and 2 liters of oil, big deal. Buy it and ride the crap out of it!
  2. My rear shock started leaking the other day so I need to remove it so I can get it repaired. Whats the best way to remove the rear shock assembly? I've never done this before so I dont want to take anything off that doesnt need to come off. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kenny
  3. cool thanks for all the help. I think im gonna order the merge racing fuel screw with the spring, o-ring and washer its only $23 and the stock setup is $30.
  4. wow that explains alot! can i get these parts from a dealer? Thats probably the whole damn problem.
  5. is there supposed to be a washer and o-ring? if so i never had either just the spring. I tried adjusting with the stock fuel screw and it acted the same way. im just trying to get this thing runnin so i can get rid of it.

  7. I finally got around to buying an adjustable fuel mixture screw and found that the bike seems to run the best when the screw is turned all the way in. What do you think is the best size pilot jet? Thanks

  9. i also wanted to add that i have never adjusted the valves so if this issue sounds like maybe a valve clearance issue let me know.
  10. are you guys both talking about the same screw? If so i removed the screw when i had the carb out but i didnt take the spring out and i did not notice if there was a o-ring on the screw or not but i dont remember seeing one. Does this bike have an o-ring on the fuel screw? If so ill pull it back out and see whats going on.
  11. yes when i took it apart to clean it and get the jet numbers i put it in upside down (angled side) but read here that it needs to go flat side down, so i pulled it back apart and corrected it. The idle problem was there before and after i touched the slide.
  12. 1. 2002 YZF 426 2. 1500-4000ft, 60-70F, desert and trails 3. FMF powerbomb with white bros. E series pipe 4. main - 162, idle air - 72, pilot jet - 42, needle - OBEJP 4th clip, pilot screw - 1 5/8 out. 5. When starting the bike cold with the choke on the idle is extremely high. After riding the bike and getting it warm the idle will vary sometimes high sometimes normal and sometimes it will just die. Other than the idle issue the bike seems to run great with no complaints. I have had this issue for awhile now so I pulled the carb apart and cleaned everything out and replaced the accelerator diaphragm since it was coming apart. What direction should I go now?
