Is it one of those rubber grommets with a the recess in the center? Can you post a pic of the rear of the tank and the grommet?

Did you check and see if the taillight bulb is good? Obviously it's a different bike, but my 79 Yamaha DT 125 will start and run the lights without a battery, but it is a 6 volt system. The lights and horn work much better with a battery, but it will run without it.

No. It's unlikely we will hear from him: BrandonW LAST VISITED January 2, 2007
  6. I can't remember why, but many years ago for some reason I thought my AutoLube wasn't working. Ive been using Premix in the tank for the last 25 years or more with no issues in my DT125. Don't know about other brands.
  7. Hi Troy, if I were you I would go with a 250 or larger. I only got a 125 because it was practically new and I got it for a good price from a co-worker. My co-worker bought it for his wife. I would have preferred a larger bike. My wife rode this for many years, as well as myself. This 125 has a low seat height and would be a bit tiny for someone of your height. Let us know if you find something! 👍
  8. Here's my 1979 DT125 I bought used in the mid 80's . I've ridden this thing in the Calif Deserts, the forests of the Pacific Northwest and the woods of the Southeast. I'm pretty sure I've never replaced the piston in it and it has about 3000 miles on it and it usually never took more than 2 kicks to get it started. My son used to call it The Banana Boat. If you can find an older 2 stroke Enduro like it that has never been abused, you should be in good shape.

Back in the mid 90's, I had a 77 RM250 a buddy from work gave me for free. I did a backyard restoration on it. Now I wish I had kept it....😫

    CRAFTSMAN tools new home...LOWE'S!!

I noticed they started carrying them last week. I just bought this stand up cabinet for my newly refurbished shop. It's actually Made in the USA. 🇺🇸 It was only about $10 more than one of their Made in China cabinets.... At least this country can still manufacture stamped steel products...

    1985 XL350R Air Screw

I never removed all that stuff as I have no idea how that would affect the carb circuit. I have noticed that my bike does start and idle better in warmer weather, which is not an issue for me, since I'm a fair weather rider. Since this thread was completed, I did go up one size on the Pilot Jet, but it really didn't seem to help in easy starting as much as I expected. If I were you I would re-install the emission hoses and charcoal canister, then remove the tab and experiment with your air screw settings.

    Vintage Dual Sport

Here's my 85 XL350R from a ride last Sunday. I'm pretty sure I'm getting about 50+ MPG. It still has less than 6,000 original miles on it. I'm the second owner.
