Husqvarna TE510 2005 Sprag clutch starter

Got it, i understand now. Took it all apart again and yes, the freewheel spins freely in both directions. The bearings are not engaging. Is there a fix for this? Im going to try and strip it now. 1315 12/4/11

Husqvarna TE510 2005 Sprag clutch starter

Tnx again guys. This is super helpful and saves a lot of guess work. What would we do without this net stuff, just great. Anyway, from what i can remember when turning the large nut on the end of the crank the starter gears all turn. They move when i turn the crank forward or reverse, there is NO freewheel type sound like on a bicycle, its seems to be engaged in both directions. I do have access to a press, but without knowing whats inside that starter I would fancy just pressing away. Have you peps got any pics of the above parts? Thnx again for you time. Very supportive. Husqvarna TE510 2005 Sprag clutch starter

Tnx for the quick reply. I thought it was something like that. As the fault is intermittent, I thought i would try and fix it. Can it be taken apart? An exploded view would be great but cannot find one anywhere (microfhish). I priced a new one here in UK and its 120ukp. A lot for an old bike. Cheers
  7. Hi people. Its been a while. Need help please to get this 2005 Husky back onto the English trails around London. The electric starter is just spining and making a little bit of a whine noise and not starting the beast. I have removed the drive cover, removed the clutch and basket and everything looks OK. The starter clutch, called a spragg clutch here in the UK is all intact, but I dont think its OK. I have taken the above part out and it looks fine. There are circlips on either side and it looks like it can be stripped down and may be fixed. Can it? I have photos of the part but cannot up load them. Ill host them later and link with a url. HELP.
