    XRL650L,NX250/650,Transalp CDI REPAIR

Thanks for the warning, Brian. I never saw that information posted before. If I blow a fuse, I will scrap the Chinese CDI unit.

    XRL650L,NX250/650,Transalp CDI REPAIR

I bought the following CDI unit from China several months ago. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I figured it was worth a gamble to spend $21.89 for a spare. http://www.ebay.com/itm/172364139260 I'll report back after I have had a chance to test it.

    XR650L: Shorai Battery Relocation

First of all, thanks for the kind words. I have never had any problems with restricted air flow. The area where my battery now sits was previously occupied by a lot of wiring and baffling. The air box was designed so air enters from the right side of the bike, and that area is still unrestricted. In fact, with the snorkle removed from the air box, I hear a lot of noise from air rushing into the intake manifold.

    XR650L: Shorai Battery Relocation

Antigravity manufactures good batteries. However, I have received superb service from the Shorai battery in my XR650L. Since I installed it almost 6 years ago, the Shorai battery has performed flawlessly for over 45,000 miles. My Shorai battery has never failed me, and continues to perform flawlessly.
  5. The last time I checked, the XR650R C/S sprockets sold by Moose were manufactured by PBI. I have used the PBI, 15T C/S sprockets without any problems, so I think the Moose 15T sprocket will work fine.
  6. You're welcome, Joe. Thanks for the kind words.

If the bike stalls on you, and won't immediately restart, wait five or ten minutes. After the CDI unit cools a little, it will usually restart the engine and keep working long enough to get you home. If a short wait doesn't work, you can also remove the CDI unit, and rap the back of it with a screwdriver, or another hard object. It is wise to buy a spare CDI unit for the XR650L. If you have a spare you can replace the CDI unit, and keep riding while you repair the original.

I have had several CDI units fail on my XR650L, and another motorcycle. Both of my bikes exhibited the same symptoms as your bike before the final death of the CDI unit. In my experience the CDI units always fail intermittently in such a manner before they finally die outright.

Rad Manufacturing Cush Hub for Honda XR650L

Thank you, Adam. Thanks for the reply.
  10. Does Rad Manufacturing still make a cush hub for the Honda XR650L? I tried calling them at the phone numbers listed on the following webpage, but none of the phone numbers work. https://radmfg.wordpress.com/about/
  11. I haven't had any problems mounting the PBI 13T C/S sprocket. I install the RK 528EXW drive chain on all my bikes which employ a 520 drive chain. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/3970/24278/RK-520EXW-XW-RING-Chain?v=3726
