  1. State the bike, size, and brand. Just wondering what everyone else runs. YZ125-M 7313 Maxxcross tires Front- 80/100-21 Rear-100/90-19
  2. Nope. The RB's swingarm is longer so it can be used with the larger wheels
  3. I am restoring a 1983 KDX80. It has a very loud clanking/knocking noise when running. I took the two side covers off, nothing in the clutch side or flywheel side. I took the cylinder off, the cylinder and piston look good. It starts up very easily, 3rd kick. I didn't run it long though with the noise it had. Now, the rod has bluing discoloration on it and a little on the crank. There is no up and down play in the rod, but it turns roughly. Not rough as in choppy, but just not smooth. Should the rod be able to stick straight up like this? Also, the flywheel doesn't move up and down so the main bearings feel pretty good. When I turn it over by hand it doesn't make any type of knocking sound, just when it's running. My rod bearing dead?

    Loud clanking noise

I've already pulled the jug, as stated in the first post. The rod will stock straight up, if you know what i mean, it doesn't like fall to the side if I let go of it.

The crank seems to spin fine. There is no resistance in the kickstart at all. Is it possible the clutch could be making all this noise?

The tranny oil has some shavings in it. The bike is pretty beat.

    Loud clanking noise

I recently picked up an '83 KDX80. It has about 100psi of compression. It starts up fine on about the 3rd kick. But, as soon as it turns on it makes this pretty loud clanking noise. I cannot tell where it is coming from. I only had the chance to turn it on for about a minute, reved it a little then it died. I did not want to turn it on again with this noise. Is it possible it's the clutch? I took apart the top end today and the rod bearing almost feels like its catching, but I'm not sure. It has no up and down play. Could it be a bearing that makes a bad clanking noise? I'm hoping I won't have to split the cases. Any ideas? Thanks EDIT: HERE ARE SOME PICTURES

    My Playbike

I just decided to share some pictures of my 04' CR85RB. I added some stuff to it over winter and would like some suggestions. The first day I picked this bike up my dad got on it and broke his back, flipped it over backwards. He was not expecting the hit it had. He has almost fully recovered. Any comments, suggestions? First day I got it:
