If you are referring to the ELN needle, it is richer than the EJP. I tried one, with a bunch of different pilot/PAS/main jet changes. It was just plain too rich for my area. My .02.

I run in Missouri/Kansas rocks/roots/mud etc. I run the Pirelli MT44 up front w/a Michelin S12 out back. I converted to an 18in wheel so I could accomodate the big 140/18 S12 out back. For me, this is a great combo. I have well over 25hrs of use on this tire, including some of south Missouri's nastiest rocks(Chadwick). Hooks like new, no reason to change. I do feel the Dunlop 756 out back allows for better power slides, but once the edges are gone, so is the traction! HOpe that helps.

Though I'm not running a TA pipe, I am running my stocker cut down 3inches. I re-packed w/Performax packing. This stuff is nice, and easy to use. Gives the bike a nice sounds also. The owner, Ron, is a rider/racer also, very nice guy and has spent many hours on the dyno making sure his product is a good one! I had the pleasure of meeting Ron last October at Cooperland, heck of nice gent and very informative about the product. Here's a link if you like.. http://www.performax-products.com/index2.html

I agree, hit Arkansas, NW corner has White Rock Mountain, should be able to look some info up, it is part of the Ozark Nat'l Forest, great riding and scenery, challenging yet fun. South Missouri also has Chadwick ORV, nice place, rocks only though. Nevermind Kansas though!

Tires Again - This time with a twist

Ditchwitch, sounds like you really enjoy our beloved rocks/roots and rocks...hehe I ride the above conditions of south Missouri and NW and Central Arkansas, good stuff to be found. Rocks, roots, mud, clay, creeks, too much fun for typing.. I run the MT44 Pirelli up front, seems to cross over between conditions well, the S12 on back does the work in any situation we throw at them. Anyone who hasn't ridden Arkansas is missing out!!! Jason -
Another vote for the MT44, switched from an M12...really no comparison. I enjoyed not being worried about the front end washing while riding w/the new front yesterday. I'm sold.

Side note, everyone is trying to grab an EMN, if the Katoom shops are running slim on those, call up a yamaha dealer and have them order you the OBELN, just as good. I had one lying around from my 426, gave it to a buddy w/a new 525exc, bam, whole new power, lowered the pilot and main, 3rd clip and look out cuz the roost is punishing...unfortunately I know first hand..hehe We run similar up to 5th gear, then he clicks 6th and its bu-bye w/the orange beast pulling ahead. Hope this helps, Jason

Yes it will work, use the search options to get details on how to do it. This mod has been around for the Yamaha's for a long time, it works great and is benefial to your fuel economy as well a bit quicker response on the loud handle...good luck with it. Jason

Pirelli MT44 and Dunlop 773, TRY THESE!!!!!!!
Jason_in_KC replied to Crazythumpin's topic in WR250F/YZ250F/YZ250FX
Mike, you can find most Pirelli's at Rocky Mountain..they have great prices and can get stuff to the door in 4 business days...8$/tire to ship. Good luck, this may be my next tire combo... -
Not sure how many of you browse other boards but there has been some planning of a White Rock trip for some time on DRN. This place is trails and rocks in the Ozarks..good stuff. There are marked loops and unmarked single track. Wanted to throw the open invite out to anyone game for some good riding. We look to be getting a block of rooms in Fayetteville for Fri/Sat night, riding both days and departure on Sunday. Anyone game or need more details, contact me at halfdigitshort@yahoo.com

Question for those running non stock jetting...
Jason_in_KC replied to fastenuf4u's topic in YZ400F/426F/450F/450FX
The jets you bought should cure you for the winter. We ride all winter long here..granted we can go a few hours south for nicer temps. I run the 45 pilot along w/the 165 main, if you feel adventurous, try the OBELN needle. It is richer than stock and gives a good midrange punch. It is too rich for me once spring rolls around though. My winter time jetting will be 165m/45p/stock needle/stock clip. I also have the adjustable PAJ, that along w/tweaking the fuel screw can give you the utimate feel for tuning. Last winter we rode a day that started at 11 degrees and the high was 19 or so. Once the bikes finally started, it was a blast, that pipe really puts out a nice warm air flow and the big Cycra plastic shields do keep the wind off. Also, wrap your levers a few times around w/medical tape, this keeps your fingers from coming in contact w/the cold metal levers. Have fun and don't stop until there is too much snow on the ground... -
We should have a group of 4-6 riders coming from KC on Saturday. I'm still pending the arrival of my linkage bearing kit but all looks good so far. Looking forward to some Chadwick rocks...

Need yellow radiator shrouds for a 98' YZF

I'm here, I'm here...LOL Thanks for catching up w/me Darin. I'll check out that weekend and see what we have going. One of my main riding buds is picking up an 03'525 Katoom this week and may need to break it in right w/some Chadwick lovin'!! Darin, not sure if you remember Pat(KCHusky), he bought a Snap-On Tool franchise and is insanely busy. Not sure who all I could round up but I'll see what I can do. Jason
