    Slolane's build thread...

Thanks! I got the mirrors off eBay, they were cheap but I loved the look. Also at like 75mph they would fold at the rear swivel point so once I found where I liked em I superglued em into place, worked like a charm. I traded the bike so it's hard to say, with all the bikes I have had I have contacts at most dealers around here. I gave them my CRF and 1k for the Ninja but I didn't pay anywhere near full price for the Ninja either. I don't care weather they take a lot off the new one of give better trade value, it's all the bottom line. With that said I got 4500 for it which isn't the case as they discounted the new one a bit so you could say apx 4000.

    Slolane's build thread...

It's been a lot of fun but I recently sold my CRF and purchased 2 more bikes. I'm keeping my Victory and added the following: 1st is a new FZ-09 for my daily bike, it's a nekkid sport bike/street fighter... I like how you sit up high like the CRF and has handlebars instead of clipons. It's very comfy and has a good bit of power, nothing like my ZX14 but it does run mid 10's. 2nd is a new Ninja 300 for my wife... I haven't been active much this year with my job and other responsibilities but I will stop in here from time to time and see how you guys are doing. It's such a great group here! Ride safe and have fun, Slolane

So I made several new friends who ride Vic's and (new) Indians. One has 2 heavily modded Vic's, his latest is also a Cross Country, it's pushing 160hp at the wheel... He has all the standard bolt ons as well as a Procharger supercharger: My Vic is stock (re performance) and has apx 90hp, he walks away from me like I'm standing still and it's awesome.

WHY didn't you ride your CRF today?

Pouring rain here too and tomorrow is 80% chance, Friday 60-80% chance but the weekend looks sunny and clear so I'm ok with that!

Good point on weight, I'm at 170-175 now. All my rides are "spirited".

**FUEL ECONOMY AND BREAK IN PEROID**

I'm consistently getting 65mpg out of mine with the 305 BB (and all other mods in my sig) on stock gearing and stock tires. I did up the EJK numbers and for using more fuel it's getting better mpg. I need to pull my seat and look at where I ended up with those. OP's questions... 1.)What is your average fuel economy? When stock I started at around 50-55mpg then settled to 60mpg on stock gearing and tires. As noted above, even with the 305 kit I'm at 65mpg now with a couple thousand miles on my bike. 2.) What type of gas do i need to put in the bike? "Need" I believe is 87, I run 89. 3.) What is the proper break in period and how hard should i run the engine? As noted above don't beat it, lug it or keep at a set rpm/speed for long periods. Enjoy it and rev it up a bit through the range.

    Light kill switch

You know for running errands and such, like stopping by the bank... All kidding aside I would like this if I were on trails more like I used to be. If I were to go at it I would track the headlight and taillight wires and splice in 2 switches that would be mounted on the bars, prob rocker switches or at least covered toggle switches. If you do it please post up how you go about it.

I know I haven't been online much but dang, anyone else see this on Honda's site under Offroad > Competition > 2014 Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition http://powersports.honda.com/trials.aspx - Montesa Honda Cota 4RT Repsol Edition Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Montesa started business in 1944, and it quickly established a solid reputation for building successful competition bikes. Honda brought the brand into its fold in the mid-eighties and today the company makes some of the best trials bikes in the world. For 2014, American Honda is offering a limited number of the Cota 4RT, a new competition-ready machine featuring a four-stroke Honda 260cc engine. Built strictly for competition, it features an electronic fuel injection system and a revolutionary decompression system that reduces engine braking for a character similar to that of a 2-stroke, which competitors prefer. A quick-shifting five-speed transmission, Showa suspension and extra-wide footpegs for more control on all sorts of terrain help give this bike a leg up on the competition. Color: Repsol Edition (Orange/White/Red); Price: $8999; Availability: April

Looks great! I have been thinking about the Warp 9's for a while myself, will probably be my next mod.
