    YZ250X Engine Mods???

I run both. As soon as I bought the bike I bought a gnarly and demolished that. Then I bought a DEP. Rode with that for a while and smashed that one. Then went back to stock. And EVERYONE IS RIGHT, stock is best. It is smooth. I felt faster because I could control the bike because the band was predictable. As soon as I receive my pipes back from Oregon, stock is going on. Even though I have the DEP I will run the stock.

I notice more noise with mine as well. I've been running the same silencer since I bought the Dep pipe

    YZ250X Engine Mods???

That topic was from 2014 I think. I had no trouble hooking up a DEP pipe to the x model with a pro circuit 304 silencer. But like I said, I felt like the DEP pipe gives a massive hit from mid-range on up. I raced the DEP pipe in a harescramble it was just way too much for me.

    YZ250X Engine Mods???

I know this does not pertain to the x but I gave practically the same review before ever seeing this. Post 9

The DEP is not x specific. It is made for a yz250. It is a wild pipe in my opinion. It does make more power I think, but when mid comes on watch out she screams. I love the stocker. More linear and predictable.

Yeah not only did I do the RK tek head, but I'm also going to be running the boyesen rad valve

    YZ250X Engine Mods???

I just put my rktek head on over this past fall 2018 and never had a chance to ride it. How is it so far, how many people are running it?

Then definitely it's a great idea for you.

    YZ250X Engine Mods???

Well, for me it cost almost $60 to send it out from here, and it took a month to get there because it went by boat from usps. Then they fix it for 60 a pipe and send it back to you. My return shipping was 20. So roughly 200 to do the whole job. Still cheaper than a pipe. I sent 4 pipes one time from a cr250 to them from RI and I was very happy I did that. Shipping wasn't that bad and the cost was cheap to fix them.

I don't want to tell you what to do, but it would be cheaper for you probably to send the pipe to piperepair.com in Oregon. If you are not in a rush then it is all good. 60 bucks to fix the pipe. Blow the dents out reshape it. I even went this route and I live in AK. But right now I am dealing with some issues and they are reworking them for me again.

So is that going to negatively affect anything in the clutch housing?

    Seriously? Didn't see that one.

    YZ250X Engine Mods???

That's exactly why I love the stiffer springs. I ran the hinson springs and plates before they weren't bad.

Well I will admit you are right, I stand corrected. But the reason I said what I said before, was because when I ordered all of my clutch stuff in 2018, the yamaha oe clutch kit fit both bikes according to RM. I remember specifically scratching my head about this asking why is it like that knowing the springs were different? So naturally to save money I bought the oe clutch kit from my dealer. But now when I look at the same clutch kit on RM, there isn't one for the x anymore. So obviously RM must of fixed this. So as of right now, I am actually running this part number in the bike right now. Which supposedly doesn't fit the x model according to RM. But the only thing that I see that is different are the springs, my best guess. But it is what it is. I don't mind stiffer spring feel. Yamaha OE Clutch Kit Fits: 2017 YAMAHA YZ250 Part# 1376540016
