Hi Thumpers, I am a new member and this is my first posting. I have been impressed with the level of knowledge on this forum. Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this issue. I have a 1978 400TII Hawk that I have modified to use for a dual sport bike for my sons. It was a fun project. The issue is that it is a hard starter. The only way it will start is if both plugs are in, I remove the left plug wire, insert a spare plug into the wire and touch the plug to the motor. The thing will start right up. Other wise I can crank it over all day and it won't start. Does anyone have an idea of why?
