KTM Demo Day ~ January 25, 2015 Hollister Hills OHV

You didn't miss much. KTM set up in the upper ranch, which is where the 4x4's go to play. You can't normally ride dirtbikes up there, and you cant go from the lower ranch to the upper ranch except by public road, so no riding between them. I was going to go by after I rode the normal area to warm up, but I blistered the crap out of my hands by the end of the day and it just wasn't even worth it. I have an 02, which is green sticker. The new two strokes are all red sticker, so they're off limits anyway. Probably a good thing I didn't ride them, if I can't have them.

Wasn't sure I was going go riding today, but this seals it! It'll be busy, but I'll be the guy with the blue Ram 1500 and KTM300exc if you want to say hi.

looking for people to ride with in NorCal

Yup! Troll Trail only has the distinction of being the "hardest" trail in the park, but that's not saying much. It's mostly just annoying to ride, because most of it is all whooped out. There's no difficult elevation changes or anything. I need to take a weekend to hit Cow Mountain (my old stomping ground) or Stonyford again. Too bad they're both 3 hours away.

Yeah, I shot it in 720p, uploaded 4gb @ 16mbps bitrate, but youtube knocks it down to 700mb and 3.2mbps bitrate, so there's a lot of artifacts in fast motion, like the trees and stuff. Oh well.

looking for people to ride with in NorCal

Here's a bit from last Sunday at Hollister, some folks were interested in seeing what it looks like. Don't know why youtube butchers the quality so bad. I need to figure out how to keep it from lowering the bitrate so much.

Yeah, after a 2 1/2 year stint in retail management I switched careers over to IT. Way better, been with this company for almost 4 years now. I hit Hollister again last weekend, but that place is pretty small. Need to try out Carnegie next.

looking for people to ride with in NorCal

Huh, didn't expect to see my picture in here (the dude in front of the XR400). I still remember that ride, that's how gnarly it was. That has got to be what, 6 or 7 years ago at this point? I got tired of not being able to ride, with the KTM just staring at me every time I went through the garage. So, finally did something about it and got myself a truck. I'm down in San Jose now, so mostly riding Hollister. Let me know if you guys do a weekend though, I'd love to go riding with the Chico/Norcal crew again.

I have a big hole in my hub

Will a 2006 KTM300 wheel fit on my 02? I'm having a hard time finding part numbers. Thanks! Also, the hub from an 02 520EXC, will that work?

I have a big hole in my hub

Zappa, I believe youre right. The bearing on the sprocket side of the hub is gone, and that thing in the pic is the oil seal. I even have new bearings in my garage. The ones on the bike were fine three or four rides ago, guess that'll teach me to check more often.

I have a big hole in my hub

I actually went out today and took a look at my chain. Its well within spec, if anything its a little loose. Sprocket condition is perfect, I think I have 4 rides on that set. I've probably only put 100 miles on the bike since I got it, so its quite possible the previous owner ran it too tight and started the process. Thanks for the replies.

I have a big hole in my hub

Click for picture Never had the occasion to look for hubs before, but now that I do, I'm finding that it's really hard to find just a hub for sale. Complete wheel kits are no less than $400. I can buy wheels for my car for less. Can anybody point me in the direction of just a hub that will work with my stock 18x2.15 rim? Or even a cheap wheel kit. Rockymountain has their g-force brand, but its only 19". Or, does anybody have a used hub for sale? Thanks
  12. I have 3 days in a row coming up: M-T-W. Anybody interested in riding Cow or Penny?

18 " Tyre (tire) for track use

s12 front and rear is a fantastic mud tire. It'll wear out on hardpack or pavement quickly though. Kenda Millville is a very good tire as well, and costs much less. Neither are DOT approved.
  14. Sold the truck, bought one of These. I'd been looking for a new trail bike for the last two months since I've been back in Lakeport, the KTM just popped up at the right time. Good condition, 3.5 gallon tank, brand new front and rear suspension, trail tech computer, and a reasonable price. The 300 is just a perfect motor for trails. I'm lovin it. Working at Safeway, assistant manager. I cant ride Cow all day yet, I'm out of riding shape! I'll be practicing as much as I can though.
  15. Not out of state, just Napa. I got transferred to Lakeport though, so I'm in the area. I can't make it out tomorrow, but let me know a week ahead of time and I should be able to get the day off. Maybe you guys should come to Cow, since I have no way of moving my bike! I live close enough to just ride there.
