Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

Mine are actually FPS super traps or some shit. They seem like really nice rads anyway. Very weird. -Rex

    Hard to find neutral

I'm never able to find neutral while stopped. Find it all the time while riding lol usually at the worst possible time.

has anyone here ever removed their lectron?

What bike are you running Bron? I ended up a half turn richer on my 2013 300 XC-W with a gnarly pipe and it seemed to run the best, no hanging idol or bogging but it seemed the bottom end right of idol just wasn't as strong as when it was at the stock setting or a quarter turn leaner than stock. however when I have it at the stock setting I get a lot of pipe bang and roughness on decal when the throttle is closed. mine has the 2-3 metering rod in it. that's what it came with. Thanks -Rex

Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

Well, that blows! Thanks for the heads up. I've been using the bullet proof guards myself on all my bikes and have never had any issues other than a really tight fit on a set of aftermarket fluidyne radiators. Have never tried the SRT guards but they sound like a good option also. -Rex

Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

I've got a set of bullet proof radiator guards that I'm hoping will work with their fan kit. What's wrong with the trail tech radiator guards?

Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

Oh wow, maybe KTM has came out with a new design or is in fact just using the trail tech system. In my post I was referring to the older KTM fan kit that uses the thermal switch that is placed in the coolant line. Thanks -Rex

Nice, thanks for your reply. It is much appreciated. I agree going into the coolant hoses sound like a bit of a pain. -Rex

Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

Cool, thanks for the reply. If the temp sensor for the fan and the separate coolant temp sensor are always within 5 degrees then I would say the trail tech temp sensor for the fan is pretty accurate. -Rex

Trail tech vs KTM fan kit?

hey guys, for those who have had either or both. In your opinion is the trail tech fan kit a better option than the KTM kit? It's nice that you can set when the fan comes on and are able to see current coolant temperatures but I'm just curious how accurate and reliable the temp sensor on the trail tech unit that goes between the radiator fins is? Seems like placing the temp sensor there would show the temperature to be lower than it actually is once a little air is flowing through the radiator fins? Wouldn't it be more likely to measure the air temp through the rads than the actual coolant temp? Also seems it may cause the fan to cut out prematurely before it has done its job as once a little air is moving through the rads it may be reading air temp and not necessarily coolant temp? I know there is some grease or something to help isolate the temp sensor from the airflow but wouldn't that stuff just wash off after a while? Dose it need to be reapplied every so often? Seems the KTM style switch that mounts in the actual coolant hose would be a more accurate way to read coolant temp? Is it just not that important to know the exact coolant temp to trigger the fan as long as your in the ball bark? I'm very interested in the trail tech kit but was carious about the the reliability, accuracy and placement of the trail tech temp sensor vs the KTM switch. Thanks -Rex

Oh really? no shit? so its legal to ride everything in Capitol Forest as long as you have up to date Washington ORV tags?

    Capital Forest single track?

I guess Middle Waddell or Porter Creek camp grounds. any suggestions? none of our bikes are street legal so we need to be able to ride from our camp into the trail system. I got the Avenza app and downloaded the capital forest map. thanks for that! I'm still planning on picking up a hard copy as well. do you know where to get other maps for like Taneum, Tahuya or Walker Valley that work with the Avenza app? thanks for the tips, we will see if we can find the single track while we are out there, my brother and I both have 300 XC-W's and are used to riding pretty technical single track so hopefully we wont have any problems. Thanks -Rex

    Capital forest trip? Worth it?

-Thanks shrubitup East Fork Rock / China Hat was another area we were looking at going. Never been there either. -Thank you Chuck I have a garmin GPS I'll look into pulling the map from switchbacks and grabing the paper map too if we end up going to capital forest.

    Capital forest trip? Worth it?

Thanks for your reply shrubitup. I'll have to look into Winom-Frazier. Taneum and Little Nache are actually my stomping grounds, been there several times and have just about rode everything in those areas. Sounds like Taneum is kinda in shambles after the hard winter and above average snow they got this year. -Rex
