  1. Hello. My wife wants to move to the Asheville area from PA. Just curious about the riding. I love my PA single track. Would love to hear about the area.
  2. Hello I would like to chime in. I live in north east pa and my wife is wanting to move to the Asheville area. I have a couple pa plated trail bikes and just wondering what the riding is like in the Asheville area. I love dual sporting for the views and I know you have those but need single track to relax myself. Also do you know of any issues in transferring plates on dirt bikes? Thanks
  3. This is some good information. I am looking to order a few jetts and just want to make sure I get enough to play with. I was going to get a few of each on the smaller side of 45 and 145.
  4. the O-rings are new on the pipe. The needle clip is at the top setting. It was in the 2nd slot and I move it to the top. I did not have a chance to ride to see what that did. The symptoms I spoke of were with the clip at the 2nd spot. Should I go to the 3rd?
  5. This was posted in the general jetting forum and did not get any answers so I am putting it in your hands. I have my first 2 stroke. 02 kdx220 motor in an 03 kx125 frame. New Top end and every seal and bearing and gasket are new. New Boyesen reeds, air filter and new kx250 fmf quiet core muffler. Head pipe is fmf woods. Jetting is 145 pilot and 45 main. Bike idles great, air screw at 1.5 turns and throttle response is awesome. It does smoke quite a bit and after a short while of riding there is spooge out the back of the pipe and at the head. 1st and 2nd gear going slow in the woods work great, go to open up then 1 and 2 sputter at half to full throttle. 3 through 6 all have great response through the full range of the throttle. Looking for some help on this, I built what I believe could be the best woods bike ever and I just need it to work. Also seems to be drinking a lot of fuel at 32:1 maxima 927 mix. I think I got it all, if you need more just ask. Thanks in advance. Also Check out my build of the bike to see what I mean by best woods bike ever.

  7. Oldman, it is awesome to read about people like yourself. You are 67 years old, that is awesome. I am 44 and hope I too am still riding at 67. I was doing the Durty Dabbers ride (central PA yearly dual sport ride) and a dude come down the trail, had a few kind words and he was gone. That man was 73 on a KTM200. You guys are inspiring, thank you. If you ever get to PA to ride look me up. Enjoy the XT. It's out of my budget, but there will be used ones in a couple years. I'll have to wait.
  8. I have an 08 DRZ70 I bought used in the fall. The bike started, ran and shifted. I brought it home and did the normal tear down and clean for this season. Now the bike will start but has a very unstable idel. If I give it any bit of throttle it will kiil the motor. I picked up a carb rebuild kit for a Suzuki 50 ATV as I could not find crap for the DRZ70. The jetts in the rebuild kit are 12.5 and 59 the stock are 17.5 and 55. The kit allowed for a little throttle but still kills the motor. I have had this carb off and cleaned about five times now, Air filter is clean, vent and fuel lines are good. The overall condition of the bike is almost new. The little plug on the air screw was missing and also the o-ring and washer on the idel screw. Now they are installed from the rebuild kit. Everything I read says clean the carb. carb is clean and comparing it to the exploded fisch all parts are now included. I may buy one of those chinese carbs aff EBAY but not sure of the quality. The season is coming and I need to get this bike running for my boy, so I need your help.
  9. where about are you located? If you have questions, I have answers
  10. Well the street legal title came today. 2003 KX125 with a 2002 KDX220 motor. I had the paperwork done last Friday and the title is here in a week. Anybody has questions on how to get a dirtbike plated in PA let me know. I will do my best to give you the answers you need. I did a DRZ400E in 2011 and this 2 stroker this year. Both times there was not a single hiccup and I had titles in a week both times.
  11. Your snow photos are amazing. You are very lucky to get as much time as you do to ride as much as it seems you do. Jealous.
  12. My question is why do you need a title? Do you plan on making this street legal? It is a dirt bike no real need to have a title.
  13. Well the bike passed the PA "enhanced inspection" and I the title work was done today. I should have my MC title in 5 to 7 days. The kickstart lever is nice but I jumped the gun a bit. I need to have some aluminum weld built up to keep it from spinning around when you kick it over. It seemed to work great in my hands when I was putting it together. The original steel one is back on for now. There is quite a bit of sputtering in 1st tru 3rd gears. 4,5 and 6 seem pretty smooth and plenty of pulling power. I am assuming carb jetting issues. It is still to cold to tell. Upper 30's. Once it warms up I'll know more. I can't wait to hit the rocks. I need to weigh this thing but I am hoping for 50 lb savings over my XR400. Thakn you all for the compliments this was my first build of any sort and I think it turned out pretty great. Next build will be some sort of vintage street bike.
  14. Finally finished. Should be getting my inspection and title work done next week to make it street legal. Going to be a great summer.
  15. Just another quick update. Motor is done and ready to go in. I printed a mount for my Trail Tech speedo. I also made a ptototype HDPE plastic skidplate. This is 1/2" (thinnest material we had) HDPE sheet plastic. The final will be all black and maybe 3/8" thick. I went to the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. this let the plastic get soft enough to bolt it in place to hold the curved shape I needed. I will finalize the design and make sure I get full engine protection and cut a new one.
