    Too many to list...
  1. What happened after you bored it?
  2. I'm not going to try increasing the stroke on mine, but I've got a .060 over piston and some porting, plus I'm planning to run Torco 110, so I'm keeping the compression up. The bike already has Racetech suspension parts front and rear, so with a big high compression engine, it should make for a nice ride.
  3. Yes, they were really close to the minimum weight and there was a moment of fear after the race when the bike was weighed again. As far as I can tell, they had a bunch of titanium parts in the thing... Also, the engine was apparently stroked out to 493cc: http://www.cyclenews...aha-1980-1z.jpg
  4. I finally got around to buying the Carlsbad USGP 1980 One Day of Magic DVD. What a great movie! So, I've got a YZ465, but the second time I rode it, the engine froze. I'm going to pull it apart and see what happened, but in the mean time, I'm trying to plan ahead and get everything together to turn it into a Marty Moates tribute bike. Anybody have information about what he rode? Regards, Doug

CR 250 Potential Exhaust Port Bridge Problems

Are you saying cast pistons are better than forged?
  6. Dougster

    AV gas

    No. Maybe? Probably not...
  7. Fun FTW! I know what you mean about hanging on for dear life! I seem to like that kind of thing though, which is why I'm going for the CR500...

    Cr250 rc valve failure

Yes, it has happened before. I think this is a link to a solution: http://forums.mxtrax.co.uk/showthread.php?t=301955&highlight=cr250

Coming back to 2-strokes, need more power for dunes

Heehee! Well, you could do what I did and get the wife hooked on riding.. Here she is:

New Cylinder A or B with Wiseco piston 03 CR125

(With apologies to the OP.) The prosecution hasn't been requesting this additional evidence, but since you guys insist... :ride:

    Post pics of your CR's

What did you use? A solution of laundry bleach and water?

It's not that big a deal to drill the holes. Assemble the piston on the rod and then put the cylinder on (don't use gaskets or clips or anything, you're just going to take it apart right away), then rotate the engine until the piston is down covering the exhaust port and use a pencil to draw lines on both sides of the bridge. Then it'll be easy to drill the holes, just stay between the lines...

Heehee, sorry man... (If I was the prosecution, I would be able to say, "I rest my case.") Did you ever PM Wiseco?

Ah, didn't realize you wanted one bike to ride everywhere, thought it was just going to be for the dunes... I don't think you can go wrong with a CR250, anywhere from 2000-2007. The 2000 and 2001 have a reputation for a stronger engine, and the 02-07 have better frames/suspensions. I have a VForce on my 07 along with a PC pipe and a bigger rear sprocket and it's great on trails and the track. Never had it at the dunes though. Eric has a 265 kit for the CR, and RB Designs seems to be the guy to go to for squish band stuff...

Coming back to 2-strokes, need more power for dunes

Heehee! (I weigh about 240 myself. I'm 6'5" and semi-athletic, so I'm not going to be able to lose much...) For dunes, I think you should skip the 250 and go right to a 500...
