    24hrs of Starvation Ridge

Going old-school on my clapped out XR500 that came out when I was a senior in high school. No HID or that fancy stuff and will be happy when it blows up.

    Dual Sporting security

tether kill switch is one other idea. ATV or Hill Climb versions. http://www.partsforatvs.com/default.asp?p=623 also some on ebay http://motors.search.ebay.com/tether-kill-switch_W0QQfromZR40 deterent for casual thief. I like "snakes on a motorcycle" better.

who is going to Idaho City ISDE

Signed up both days. Bringing 9 of my riding buddies from Montana. Friend in Ridge Rider club says it will be there "tough" course. Look for fallen logs and killer soil. Best riding and racing combined into guided 120 mile trail ride.

    12 Hour Race Reports...

Scoot did another nice job and he really does have bigger toys than anyone I know. Next year will be bigger like the 25 hour. Always will be a victim of success. Made the trip from Montana 660 miles to ride the IronMan and lo and behold the winner was . . . an IronMaiden. Top three guys dropped out due to mechanicals and she (???) beat the guys. Grrrrl Power. Cant believe all the water and the track was rough and no places to rest and the dried up ruts were scary. My bike conked out at 7pm (185) miles and there will always be next year. Thanks to all the locals for helping me and WA/OR is always nice place to travel and there is actually more wind in Goldendale than where I live.

I will be coming from Montana. Going to enter IronMan. Team: Basque Power. Look for the guy with the Yellow '73 VW Bug pulling his Yamahauler with the HID off my WR450 mounted on the front. Good Times.

    1985 XT350 1986 YZ250 conversion?

I am tackling putting Xt350 engine into 1993 yamaha rolling chassis (will be old-school looking). Sounds easy huh?? Unless you are totally sick and have ludicrous delusions of mechanical grandeur then do it but coming from a person who has/will/could - I would fix the YZ or part it out on ebay and buy a TT350/XR400. I have another 1986 XT350 with KTM front end and TT350 rear end and the XT was not designed to have more stiffness from Better forks and suspension. Same thing for the YZ. A lot of times it is best to leave the motorcycle alone becuase it was engineered that way. Open up air box on XT and add a supertrapp. Drill out the bottom of carb to get at air-screw and richen main jet(s). Put some shims in forks or stiffer springs. I would leave it alone and buy some good tires and put some shims/spacers in fork to make stiffer. my two and half cents

Race in Cherry Creek this weekend!

Destry Abbot is in Vet A. There is no "pro" class or AA class like Enduro. Its not like I would trophy or anything (I am more a B+/A- rider) - just imagine going to motocross and lining up with Mike Larocco, Jeff Emig or Doug Henry racing in Vet A. Lots of fun and great to see the Factory guys.

Race in Cherry Creek this weekend!

Worth the 650 mile trip from Montana. Nice single track that made passing conga line difficult (still irks me that if you catch up to someone they block all passing lanes) but with some creative bumping made it fun. Loved riding through the small streams from all the moisture and running the start thru the dunes is always a treat. My other bitch is that I was in the same class as Destry Abbott and other "pros" while being a spode from Montana. Sage Riders get major kudos from me and my other two friends who had never ridden sand dunes or been to a desert race. Always love the starting line with a ton of riders and the helicopter flying around makes it look like something from "Dust to Glory"

Race in Cherry Creek this weekend!

Driving down from Montana where there is some killer storm moving in so I want to get out soon. Is it worth it to drive to Utah and how are conditions? Every time I have been down it snows up high but the lower stuff is excellent.
