    2010-13 450 for trail riding

  3. Yes i rode it a few times and like most people i was'nt impressed with the lack of bottom end and top end. Lately i've been doing a bit of riding with pretty fast guys all riding new/late model bikes while im on my old 98 WR250 2 stroke which is a great bike but too peaky and feels like it has square wheels compared to the other guys bikes, so to answer your question i've got my sites set on making my CR into the bike i've always wanted and the stock engine is not the bikes strong point so i'm here trying to figure out the best way to go about getting the engine done. As well as the bb kit and porting i will also be getting Eric to set the squish band clearance but heres the dilema. I am doing a full bottom end rebuild (main bearings, crank, seals, conrod etc.) does it make a difference what rod i use or can eric figure out the squish band with just the cylinder and head?
  4. So here is the story. A few years ago i bought an 03 CR250 with big plans to make a trail weapon out of it and live happily ever after blah blah blah. Well it ended up being a ground up rebuild which i could'nt afford at the time so i put it on hold until i had the $ and knew what i wanted to do with it. Fast forward a few years and i've decided i will go ahead with the build and be getting Eric Gorr to do me a 265 bb kit and mid-top porting to run pump (98 octane) gas etc. So monday i get home from work and yank out the engine only to pull off the head and find the cylinder is shagged. So im wondering what year model cylinder i should order 02 03 04 05 06 07? and send to eric to do the work or if you guys know if he can supply the cylinder and do the work?. I've sent him an email but hav'nt yet heard back. Also interested in some feedback on you're experiences with his work and if im better off going for the low-mid porting as I have a new Pro Circuit Platinum2 and Shorty exhaust for it.

    Over sized radiators CR250

I have the same radiators on my 03 cr250 and i have Devol radiator guards/braces and they fit no problem. All i had to do was space them out with some washers and use slightly longer bolts.
  6. My first crash was on my 4th b'day. I remember waking up to get ready for school and my parents telling me i had a present down stairs, when i got down stairs there was a brand new Honda QR 50. I tell you what i must have nearly sh!t myself with excitement because i can still remember the whole day at school i couldnt wait to get home and take new bike for a ride. I'd never ridden a motor bike in my life but wanted one so bad because dad and his buddies always had bikes and rode pretty much every w'end so i wanted to be just like them. Anyway that afternoon i got home and told me to put on my riding gear which "grandma and grandad" had got me for my b'day,so i got my gear on and dad gave me a run down on what lever does what blah blah blah. So im sitting on the bike and its warmed up idling away and dad says "now slowly twist the throttle and make sure you turn before you get the them trees up there", or something along those lines, but all i remember is pining the throttle and smashing straight into the "trees" dad had warned me about. Luckily i didnt get hurt too bad and was right back on in a matter of minutes and didnt crash again for weeks.

    Just cruising Craigslist

You guys in the USA have no idea how lucky you are. If i had got up early on a saturday morning and sat down to read the paper looking for a bike and spotted that i would spray my coffee all over the dining table in shock then go shoot the dog and tie up and gag the missus to go get that thing man. That bike here would be selling for at least $4500... at least. Thats it im packing my $#it and moving over.

    Footpegs

Yeah they are sharp, about as sharp as ive seen spikes on a a set of pegs yet and didnt take long to chew up the soles of my boots either but thats the price you pay for grip isnt it. Seriously good value imo. Here's another link with comments, i hate to carry on about a set of foot pegs but they realy are the shiz http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HONDA-CR250F-CRF250R-2010-BILLET-RACE-FOOT-PEGS-/390310362832?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae04f7ed0

    Footpegs

Try some of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tusk-Billet-Race-Wide-Foot-Pegs-Honda-CRF250R-2004-2009-/290561953236?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a6d78dd4 i got some for my CR 250 and have put about 50hrs on them and hardly worn any anodising off them and the spikes are stainless so they last forever...nearly. If you look around you should be able to get a better price on them also because i only paid $55 for mine and $#!t aint cheap here.

    Storing dirtbike inside my room

I used to have my YZ250 in my room when i lived in an appartment with my friends. Only time it was a problem was when we were going to have an inspection, so when the inspection day came around i would drag my bike out and put it in my ute and they never asked any questions. As already stated just to make sure i wasnt smelling any fumes i would pull off the fuel cap breather hose and plug the cap with a rubber plug as well as fit my exhaust plug and have my air boot cover which you use to stop water getting in when you wash your bike installed. Never had a problem doing this myself but just dont let the land lord find out lol.

    2 stroke VS 4

I prefer Diesel power myself, nothing climbs a hill like my 2015 Yamasaki YBR 711 twin turbo quad supercharged LPG and NOS enhanced diesel unicycle!!!

I Can't Go Fullspeed On My Pitty! Help

Sounds like your main jet is too lean. But before we go trying to diagnose something having only seen a video theres a few things we need to know, such as is the engine warmed up.. is the choke on... what is the condition of your plug etc etc. You also mention that it was doing it before the carb swap which is when you got the video, did it start doing this suddenly or over a period of time?. Maybe it isnt a fuel/air issue and may be a spark problem, have you done anything to the ignition system and have you checked the coil/lead isnt shorting out somewhere under high revs?

Stupid me forgot to check ring end gap!

Well i would just run it too but since he seemed to be worried about it popping off the head and having a look would be the quick easy way to be sure!

Stupid me forgot to check ring end gap!

Why not just pop off the head and get the piston at TDC and eye ball it?. It might be a little hard to see but with a good light and a good look you should be able to see the ring gap. If it doesnt look bigger than .5mm/20thou or smaller than .2mm/8thou your good to go.
