    My head is starting to spin with the jetting I need. I ordered a brand new carb from Keihin-fcr and Christos jetted it close to what he thought I needed but I'm getting a what i think is a rich sputter at low rpms about 1/4 throttle. 435cc BB Kit, 3x3, RS2 Exhaust @ Sea Level (50-80 degrees temp F) 160 Main 45 Pilot EMR Needle 3rd clip from top, Screw at 2 turns out Im pretty sure (he set and marked it when he sent it out). I've read BB Kits like a 155 main, EMP Needle ect so would love some help its killing me lol!!! Was going to try putting clip at #2 see how it runs like that. Runs great at WOT 3/4 and 1/2.

    Clogging up the flow dosen't make sense to your engine .Just think what you are doing...Performance carb...intake increased...Perfomance headpipe and NON performance muffler..It kinda confuses the pipe flow...Starts off good with the power bomb header then hits a wall with the inserted quiet pipe.,,With 3x3 mod try a 155 main jet....use next smaller size pilot jet if no reaction to turning fuel screw......I would prefer to see a Keihin EMP clip 3 needle setup over the JD needle in an Fcr standing free revving is not an indicator for correct jetting....How is runs is what you base it on BTW where did the carb come from ???

    I would use the stock OBDXP needle clip 4 and a 145 main jet for quoted riding elevation..Airbox snorkel removed... higher than that re insert the snorkel for easy fix
  5. Hey Craigo,

    I heard you are good at answering tuning questions. I have a 2007 DRZ400SM with a FMF Q4 muffler with spark arrestor and Powerbomb Header. It has a 3x3 mod, Keihin39 FCR, and Zeta quick turn throttle. I just put in a 165 main jet, 45 pilot jet, and red needle at 4th clip from JD Jetting. It stumbles a little when revved and it seems to bog a bit when under load at full throttle. It also idles with the fuel screw turned in. Where should I start?

      I also live at about sea level in 70-90 degree weather.

    As above said...Repair should be no problem on a small hole in an accessible area...JB weld should work

    Side note ;;;; you are going to get some decent gains by ditching the carb for 41mm Fcr

    If it ain't broke , Don't fix it......The E cooling system was designed to run without a thermostat...On or Off road ,,,I ran stock for years in both environment.actually ridden mostly road without issue

    It is okay to use either. Just important you change oil regularly

    Not needed with 440 bore...any bigger and I would say yes for sure
