150 sx vs 150 xc wheres the real differences lay ?

Well if i could find a 200xc close to me i’d prob take a look - i found one but seller pulled it ... found a 150sx set up for woods but 10 hrs away Found a 125 set up for woods but its a 12 so if wanted to convert would have to do crank conversion 🤦🏻‍♂️

150 sx vs 150 xc wheres the real differences lay ?

so have found a few other prospects -- most are hours away. found 14 150 xc = original asking was $4200 - they lowered it $4k ---told me $3900 and are now @ $3750 --- was all gone through 1st of '17 and prob has about 45-50hrs on complete rebuild - I know the guy and was his race bike, so he he kept up n the maintenance ... reasonable or lil high yet ? he lives 2hrs from me but will bring it within 40 minutes of me

150 sx vs 150 xc wheres the real differences lay ?

thanks for the replies -- I currently ride/race a '15 200xc-w ---- after coming off a '11 KX250f decided had to make a change...... I know where I can get a 150xc - -- raced by a +40 A rider. For most part clean and well taken care of. One thing I like on my 200 is the PDS - which started in '12 -- Seeing I ride pretty much trails I like the PDS for that, (less pieces to maintain & lighter) CDI boxes are not reprogrammable and was curious about swapping CDI boxes and even the carb swap - then the XC can get a little more Lively but would still maintain the wide ratio trains, if i thought it needed more ..... which I think I read they, called it more a semi wide ratio, with a little longer run out on top than the SX. delimas and struggles lol are real....... shouldn't be this much thought into a play bike --- but my son is 10 will begin transition to the 85 hopefully this year, so my plan was to get something i ca play on now, and then in a couple years -- he can transition to -- thanks again
  10. Been contemplating getting a 150 to play around on, and have as a back up bike - mostly play though. Been really leaning towards the XC model..... have ran across a few SX models.... seeing these share a lot of same parts - wondering what is the hige differences lay, and are those differences noticeable...... i have researched both and compared parts via KTM parts manuals. Looking for feedback from those who may have rode (owned) both bikes and can give some solid comparisons ---- i have had guys say the SX would be fine, others say XC is what I want.... 90% of riding we do is trail 10% playing on a track...... Lastly what years can you do the 150 swap to a 125sx wo swapping the crank ?

XC-W high rev - speed question

When I get home today I will look again at the series - and report back - MJ was 165 and went to the 162 ( pj 40 ) which I did not pull out to check - This set up was recommended by another member - and after their rec' I read in the manual to see what they has which was real close

XC-W high rev - speed question

pat22043 - that was not my only concern was the wide open grass fields - i had some sluggishness while riding trail to which the other day current setting seemed to help with ( no more dogging) AC - Gearing is my next point of concentration - 14/50 I am short shifting and bike revs quick. a 14/48 for allow longer shift and mellow out the rpms.

XC-W high rev - speed question

Yes I was @ home using my bifocals for read the stamping - I'm pretty positive on what I saw, as I believe it was whats listed int eh manual I have for the bike too, I will take another look... it could be L --will look again as I marked the one I took out of the bike. The one in the bike now is J Fuel: Usually I run a 98 octane (mis of 110 and 92 octanes) - lately though I run a 92 octane non ethanol blend ( Illinois native) A/S - I believe I was 1.5 out -- no more than this, idle set ( IDK the actual RPM it's set at but mellow just above dying) As far as the heating, popping, run on - non of that when I rode it last. Less doggy coming off the line ( ran a couple starts - live engine and dead engine) The person I purchased from gave me everything he was given - I thought what I got was what KTM gave you as part of the "race Ready" book. thanks again --
