    Anybody run Amsoil 60:1 in their RM250’s??

    What ever ratio you decide to run, make sure you change the jetting to match. If you’re not aware, changes in fuel/oil mix effect jetting mix as well. More oil, say 32:1=leaner jetting mix, you have to up the jets. Opposite for less oil, say 60:1=more gas/rich jetting, you’ll have to drop the jet sizes.

    Pistons don’t require replacement every time the engine Is disassembled, but should certainly be checked for wear and clearances. With the Namura pistons make sure that you get the right size for the bore. The bore size in the cylinder is what determines which piston size you need, not the stamping on the piston itself. You’ll need precision tools to measure the bore. Most people just get whatever the manufacture supplies but it’s best practice to actually measure the components before assembly. If you don’t have the tools you can get the middle sized Namura piston. If you get a chance read up on how to properly replace the top end and how to measure the components.

  10. You’ll need a new hub too...Suzuki clutches are notoriously junk. Mine does the same thing.

    Stroker?

    Know that every change in dimension changes the power curve. An overbore will run differently than a stroker. The two together will run differently than the others singly. Know what you expect and get the builder to explain how to get what you want. If you’re not happy with a modified 125, you may want to consider a 200SX KTM or a 250 bike. Also available is a KDX200/KX hybrid.

    Drill and bolt extractors will get the broken bolt out, or but another ratchet mechanism somewhere. First figure out why it’s locked up.

    265 Big Bore Reviews?

    Tom Morgan of Factory Kawasaki had this to say: The most economical change that also performers very well is an over-bore to 265cc. This engine gains power and torque at all RPM, especially at part throttle opening and mid range. You would need to send me the cylinder assembly and head. The work perfrormed would be: a) Bore cylinder and NSC plate to 265cc b) Modify Exhaust valve to clear larger bore c) Complete porting work for your type of use and the big bore d) Head modification for big bore, your altitude, and the fuel that you prefer to use (pump gas most likely) e) oversize piston kit f) Complete dissassembly, cleaning and reassembly of the cylinder. -OR- The 295cc big bore is the next step. It receives the same modifications as the 265, just bigger bore and it comes with a head gasket. These engines gain considerable power at all RPM but tend to be more of a bottom-mid type of power. The top end power can be increased substantially if I do modifications to the crankcases which would require a bottom end engine rebuild also.
