    Kx100 2mm stroker + stock bore

Update, (long over due I know). I did contact TDC. Brent advised I can get away with just another base gasket (2 gaskets) without machining the head. Sd to put the squish around 1mm and tune on that. Sd the kx are usually .5 in the hole for a piston. I did put 2 base gasket on and did a squish test and it brought me abit past 1mm. Bike started fine, just need to tune now.

kx100 big bore with stock head?

kx100 big bore with stock head?

Seems the previous owner did everything except match bore the head. It looks sleeved and piston is etched "651M05450" right on top. Already got a new top end kit (54.50) from wiseco and the pistons measure about the same 54.50mm. It was running fine till the head gasket blew and leaked coolant, of course I didn't find out there was no coolant until the motor died. And here's the head..
  4. So no compression on the bike. Took off the top end to find out its been sleeved, big bore (54.50mm), but the head is stock 52.50. Do I need to have the head bored as well? Tried searching but couldn't find the answer so thought I'll post the question to the guru's. I've got a replacement top end kit waiting to be installed but wanted to confirm if its ok with the stock head or bore it while its out. Any suggestions? Thx

    Not kx100 rear wheel...

Welp.. rear wheel is from a honda cr85rb. Thx for pointing me in the right direction nobade. Was there a point to doing that? Are those stronger wheels? I have a spare stock kx100 wheel, should i put the stock back on? Though i would need a 428 sprocket.

    Not kx100 rear wheel...

I did a search on Amazon and got this: Koyo 6002RS Single Row Ball Bearing Price: $20.76 + $9.95 shipping ya...thats kinda pricey for 1 bearing. The whole kit, bearings and seals, from ALL BALLS is only $10 on amazon. Hoping someone can tell me the wheel this came off of so I can find a kit for it and not spend a fortune. Thx

    Not kx100 rear wheel...

Got this bike about 3 months ago. It's pretty much setup for trail riding. Larger sprocket in rear along with 428 chain, pipe guard, skid plate, etc. The rear wheel had a bunch of washers so I decided to check the wheel bearing. Upon removing the rear wheel I realized it wasn't a stock KX100 rear wheel. The bearings were shot, 1 barely moved while the other "crunched" as I spun it. Problem now is trying to find the right bearings and seal for it. The sprocket's side bearing is smaller and thinner than the brake side. Anyone know what wheel this may be off of? Both bearings state, Japan KOYO. Larger is a 6202RS, smaller one is 6002RS. Gonna need both bearings and seals. Thx.

kx100 power valves.... ok to sand blast?

I've read about soda blasting.. will it be ok to use on my cylinder as well? How bout the mating surface and the cylinder walls. Basically the whole cylinder without taping anything up.
  12. I've read some folks using oven cleaner or brake cleaner. But i have access to a sand blaster and it would be a whole lot faster if i could blast it instead of waiting for it to soak and scrub later.. there's alot of baked on carbon on the valves. Pretty sure the valves are steel as well. So will it be ok to sand blast?
  13. Sorry to wake this from the dead, but jpt how did u'r build turn out? Did u end up using a spacer and getting head worked? In the same boat, looking to put the hotrods +2mm stroker kit in. But I'm mainly looking for bottom/mid end.
