James, do you have any idea what size wrench that strainer bolt takes?

Having part trouble (again.) Please help!

The only reason I was going to use liquid gasket is because I wont be able to get anything to seal it between now and when I will need to ride it to work, so I was looking for something temporary.
  3. Hey thumpers. I was having quite the oil leak, and I thought it was coming from a wrong part Chapp sent me. Turns out that while they did send the wrong part, its still leaking, and this time I have isolated the leak. The leak is coming from the following area: More specifically, this region seems to be the problem: Is there a gasket here that tends to fail? Would I be better off getting a new gasket, or would it be smarter to get a whole new part to connect to the hole? Should I run a bead of liquid gasket and try to see if that fixes the leak first? Either way, if you guys could provide part numbers for the parts involved and a size for that nut, in the picture I circled, I would really appreciate it. I will need to buy a Crow's Foot to remove it Thanks ThumperTalk, you guys rock! Josh
  4. Hey guys. I recently called up Chap and ordered some new oil drain plugs. They sounded like they were having a hard time identifying what I was talking about when I told them I needed the frame oil drain plug, but they found some "auxillary" plug in the fiche and sent me that. It was a completely different type of bolt head (allen instead of hex) but it was the correct size of threads and correct length, so I threw it in. Well, needless to say my bike is leaking oil. Can someone please please please provide me with the correct part number for the FRAME oil drain plug so I can go out there and ride my motorcycle? Thanks guys. Kiddrz
  5. I reseated the gasket and so far so good. I've put about 200 miles on her and no more leakage. Thanks for your help guys!
  6. Okay, so its not really anything to worry about? Just reseat the gasket and call her good?
  7. Hey guys, I'm pretty new to dirt bikes in general. I went outside to snap a few pics today, and I saw there was an oil leak coming out of the side of my engine. I took a picture to document it. I looked inside and it didn't appear to be threaded or anything, and I don't remember a cap being there. What's wrong with my bike?? Pic:

What tail light kit is this?
  9. Hi All, New to TT, just wanted to get some advice because I heard this is the best place to get it. First off, I own a 2003 DRZ400s. I have heard from several places that I can uncork a lot of the DRZ's engine by removing emissions related stuff. I've searched everywhere and I can't find a sort of all inclusive guide on how to and what needs to be removed from the bike. Also, I'd like to rejet it and I've heard that the 3x3 carb mod is a great way to start off. Is there a thread or guide somewhere that gives me a good place to start with some instructionals? Also, I've had the bike for about 3 weeks and I've taken a couple minor and one pretty good spill. Dented the metal gas tank.. (seriously, metal gas tank on a dirt bike??) I checked it out and it looks like IMS makes a custom 2.6 that you have to special order, and I found this Clarke that is available in a 2.6 version (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Product/clarke-dirt-bike-replacement-fuel-tank/4007.0214.aspx?year=2003&make=SUZUKI&model=DR-Z%20400S) Do any of you have experience with either of these tanks? How close are they to stock? I'd hate to make the bike any wider than it already is, so the closer to stock (see: narrower) the better. While we're on the subject, can anyone recommend a good all-in-one plastics kit? Mine are already looking pretty shabby. Thanks in advance, Josh
