  1. starter problem fixed. anybody able to help with the other parts?
  2. i have a 1974 suzuki TC 185. This bike has the dual range transmission. I found somebody that has a set of 5 NOS pistons and rings that came with the hop up kits. these are for the TS 185 but i would assume they would fit mine since the only difference is the transmission. I am wondering if there would be any HP increase with just the pistons or would i need the rest of the kit? i already have a bassani pipe for it and have wanted a hop up kit for awhile but only finding the pistons. I recently replaced the starter solenoid any now the starter will turn over but very very slowly. i wasnt sure if there is something to adjust to be able to get proper power to the starter. i am also looking for any way to figure out what color the bike was originally. the previous owner painted it black with an orange metallic stripe. i would prefer to paint it the stock color. any help is appreciated.
  3. i have a 1993 yamaha wr 500. i am looking at upgrading to a larger tire but didnt know if anybody has had a wr 500 in the past and has done this. the stock rear tire is a 120/90/18. i currently have a 120/100/18 on it. i would like to go to a 140/80/18 but am not sure if it will fit between the swingarm or not. the tire i am looking at getting is the michelin S12 XC. i wasnt sure if this would be a good choice or not. i only ride trails that are sand, dirt, and mud. any input is appreciated.
  4. its not that i dont know electrical on the bike. i have an exact manual for it with a wiring diagram in the back. the problem is that the wiring diagram says it should have a kill switch but there isnt one and the rest of the manual doesnt mention anything about a kill switch. i have looked over the diagram but it is not easy trying to track it out. i dont have alot of time to spend tracking it all out. part of the reason i want to get it the wiring fixed is because this bike needs to have a good battery and electrical circuit intact to even run. i cant get any spark unless i put some juice through it.
  5. as far as i know the 185 is the only one that has electric start in the tc family. i bought it mostly for the girlfriend as a beginner bike since it does have electric start.
  6. i have a 1974 suzuki tc 185 dual range. so far i have noticed it is a little bit different than the ts 185's but similar. i am trying to get the electric start working but am finding that the person who owned it before me spliced a bunch of wires together and didnt know what they were doing. i have a manual for it but am having a hard time figuring what wires go where since there are so many spliced together. if there is anyone near lansing, michigan that might be able to help with this that would be appreciated.
