    Cr450r Carb Slide

I did read the response. And I asked ABOUT something else hoping that someone else maybe had encountered the problem. That's the point of the forum.

How to install throttle shaft.. Help please!

Any suggestions? Really want to get this thing back together.

    Cr450r Carb Slide

I pulled the throttle shaft completely off by accident and there is a little metal tab that is preventing me from sliding the shaft back into the carb. It's the same tab that is preventing me from adjusting the throttle arm. I believe that it is connected to the Ap. At this point I think I'm just going to drop the carb off at the shop and let them fix the issue. I can't figure it out. If you have any suggestions I appreciate it. Thanks for your time.
  4. Accidentally pulled the throttle shaft out and can't get it back on. The accelerator pump has a little metal tab that isn't allowing me to push the shaft all the way in after I've rewound it.

    Cr450r Carb Slide

Is there a way to adjust the shaft.. I only see the ap Phillips head there and the idle adjustment screw. The is a star screw on the other side of the carb that when removed gives me access to that side of the throttle shaft.

The shaft is out sync by just a few millimeters. How do i adjust it back to the stock setting?

There is a bracket that is preventing the slide from completing releasing. It is connected to the screw in the photo that I believe goes to the accelerator pump.

It was resting there. I adjusted that previously. There doesn't seem to be anything hindering the slide.

    Cr450r Carb Slide

The hole on the vacuum plate is on the bottom. The slide will move freely up an down until I hook up the throttle rollers. Then it only goes down about 3/4ths of the way. I've taken it out and put it back in prob 50 times and taken out the screw on the arm of the throttle that connects to the rollers and it doesn't seem to want to allow the slide to fully close. Any ideas? Thanks for the reply krannie. I'm stumped.

    05 450r carb slide

After cleaning my carb i noticed that the slide is not fully closed. It's up at 1/4 in the carb. Is this normal? Thanks!
  12. I had some backfiring issues and figured it probably had something to do with my carb. This afternoon I pulled the carb off of the bike and went through it all. My main jet and slow jet were both clogged which will hopefully fix the backfiring issue. Upon reassembling the carb I noticed that the slide will not close fully. Is this normal? Or did I reassemble incorrectly?

    02 Wr250f Exhaust Glowing Red

So i think i got it figured out. I opened up the feul screw 2 full turns.. and messed with the idle until it ran the best it has in a long time. I rode it around for about 10 mins and the pipe got super warm but it didnt get glowing hot. I had the idle set way to high which is why the rpms were going crazy.. thanks again. The feul screw adjustment is what really set me free and without your help i would still be trying to figure out what the red knob was haha

Thanks for the responses.. they are very much appreciated. The pipe has never ran red like for as long as i have had the bike. If i would have touched it with a screw driver it would have easily gone right through. Im not going to act like i know alot about working on bikes as i have only been riding for about a year now. I just dont want to damage anything. The bike also does idle a little wierd now, it revs up the rpm's real high. Is that a jetting issue? Is there some kind of spec for the red knob on the bottom of the carb? Thanks again!
