    DR350 Stator

it has no battery....that could be part of the problem?
  2. Got a "beater" 92 KDX200 for a second bike, first is a KTM 450EXC. I rode it for the first time today (trails in the NorthEast). I am thrilled with the way it runs, but less than thrilled with the handling. A couple observations and questions. 1) the bike seems to handle rocks well, especially the rear suspension. The front seems like a pogo stick....adjust the rebound? 2) Cornering and wet mud, both the front and rear seem to slip alot. Tire pressure? What should the tire pressure be? The tread seems good, maybe 70%. 3) Does anyone run a steering dampener. The front end seems alittle loose. I know the front end has been replaced. There is no play in the steering bearing. Should I try tighting the steering, or look for a dampener? 4) The aftermarket seat (or cover), looks great, and feels good....until you hit the trail. It is slippery and angled towards the front, so I am always slipping forward. Do they have seat grips you can stick on? I dont really want to pay for a new cover. I'm sure alot of this is being unfamiliar with the bike, and also expecting too much, but I would like to tweek alittle. Thanks

    DR350 Stator

Hi - my friend bought a 1994 DR350s beater. It runs rough and he was told by the seller it needs a stator. He is starting the task of rebuilding the carb, etc. but meanwhile he is looking for a stator. Any place for used ones (tried Craigslist and ebay..none). If we cant find used, wheres the cheapest aftermarket? We were told, the stator that is currently in it, is from a 1991, and is significatnly different, thats why it runs ratty.

    400EXC or XR400?

I have a 96 XR400 and a 03 KTM 450 EXC. The KTM has superior: suspension, handling overall power starting (e-strt) The XR has: much easier maintenance better cornering better on the street (I have both registered for the road) cost

    XR400 blows bulbs

thanks guys - I have the stock fender, light assembly on it, and am not looking to spend $ for an upgrade. I got a double strenght 1157 the other day and will try it out tonite. If that does not hold up, I will look for the LED model as Gumby stated.

    XR400 blows bulbs

I have a xr400 (96). I got a street plate on it. It is new to me, but keeps blowin the tail/brake lite. Sometimes only on filament, sometimes both. Does anybody know what the tail/brake bulb should be. I think it had a 1034 in it. Maybe it needs a bulb that handles more current? thx - Hinmo
